Sooo apparently I didn’t learn my lesson on driving through the pasture when it’s too wet!!!!
I thought it would be nice to mow while it wasn’t dusty.

Ahhhh oops!!
Unfortunately desert dog was not up to returning the favor and simply pull the IH out.
It’s kinda a (sinking) feeling to get the largest thing on the farm stuck!
I hand dug with a shovel around the tiresOuch and then let it sit for a week to let the mud dry.
This morning was the moment of truth could I drive it out???
I went out..... and the batterys were DEAD!!!
So desert dog did help out with a jump start.

Much to my relief I was able to drive it out of the sink hole I created.
Yah Dad didn’t have to bring a D7 over to pull me out.

Looks like you have a hydraulic bucket on the loader. Did you try to use that to help push yourself out? I have done that a time or two.Smile

That’s a good idea, I went backwards just a little and that made it sink even worse, and this loader has no down pressure so I couldn’t even use the hydraulics to raise the front tire up out of the hole.

Used the dog to move the pasture sprinklers.

Then I went out on our desert range for a bit.

My jeep buddy Muley ask me if I was interested in a aluminum halfcab.... Yep I was, so we made a deal on it.
Then he said I have some other jeep stuff if you want it,bring your trailer and  I’ll load you up!

So last weekend my wife and I went on a little road trip to visit MuleyBig smile

You know you have a good jeep friend when he tells you to bring a trailer to get the stuff he wants to give ya. Clap

Muley loaded me up with all kinds of awesome jeep parts!

It was great to visit and see Muleys place.
He has one of the neatest jeep caves I’ve ever seen!
Charlie is a great jeep dog, and guards an awesome 3A Muley recently finished.
The chickens were guarding the legendary OD mule in the other shed.

What a fun flatfender adventure!
Thanks Muley!!

When I got home to Windy Sage jeep farm I put the parts In (inventory)Tongue

Went to check out my Dads latest flatfender.
 A 1942 GPW!Clap
We had stopped and asked about this jeep about 10 years ago after seeing it from a backroad. We made friends with the owner and would stop by every few years and check on the jeep.
Well on Monday Dad happed to be going through that area and blew a trailer tire right at the guys driveway!
He pulled in and the guy was home and helped him change the tire.
So being a jeep guy Dad used the opportunity to make the guy an offer on the GPW.
Patience payed off because after nearly 10 years he was ready to sell!Clap

Got to love recovery stories like this. I hope you were able to get the history of where the sweetie came from and who owned it. Usually ends up as bought surplus in '46 from the military at a airbase that no longer exists etc. , always a interesting story.

My '43 GPW came from a extinct airbase in Arizona and was purchased by a Sargent from WW2. He named mine Bugs Bunny. I have pictures of he and the Jeep. He kept it until his death in 1964 when a avacado farmer bought it for use on his farm. 20 years later it ended up in a garage not in running condition in San Diego Ca. where his widow was selling a Ford Thunderbird to a guy from Belle Fourche SD. He was looking at it and the widow asked "do you like that thing?". If you do just take it. This guy and another got it running and then lost interest. I had the local hardware store owner turn me on to it since he knew I liked Jeeps. It was one of those don't need it but better at least go look at it since they don't turn up very often. A terminal disorder which you two have-------LOL  I've had several false alarms about piles of Jeeps and WW2 Jeeps sitting out on ranches under lean to's etc., but "Bugsey" was real. History you can drive is so cool.

We'll need to be updated on everything about it now Ben!!!!!!! Oilly

That is a early Script GPW  (vec) with flat topped grill and is in very good finders condition. The windshield has very little rust, data tags on the glove box. Wow. Check the frame number against the tags. The frame number is on top of the frame rail under the hood at the LF shock mount area. The font of the stamping will tell you which plant built it.

Original matching engine? check the oval pad rF of the block behind the oil filter. Hopefully it's all there.

Clutch and brake petals are backwards.

Looks like the T84 is still there. Back rests of the seats should have a F stamped in the middle------lots to check. What a jewel.
