After some flatfender maintenance.....
Me filling my master cylinder and t-case, oh and relacing my steering wheel cover. Oh did I mention I had to unbury my jeep... just an engine and over a 1000lbs of gutter coil! Ha ha Muley adjusted a front brake. I checked the oil in Dad’s t-case and zip tied the speedometer cable to the front drive line...... just seeing if your paying attention! Tied it AWAY from the driveline. Okay almost ready for adventure!

The road less traveled! This alkali ground is really slimy when wet. I felt like I barely made it through this little gulley , so I was secretly hoping Muley would get stuck so we could try out his cool warn winch...... Nope his bias ply heavy lug tires made it look easy Dad made it easy as well so I guess my tires are the worst of them all. |

If you tale another look at the pic you referred to you'll easily see Love reservoir but beyond that you can just make out "Farewell Bend" on the Snake River Ore-Ida border. It was here the settlers turned their wagons westward from the relative good bounty of the Snake for the trek across the eastern Oregon desert.. Hard times ahead. We found an area fenced off by the Oregon Trail Assoc near a place called Sulphur springs where 150 yr old wagon ruts are still visible thru the sagebrush. cool stuff.

Thanks for the Geo lesson, looking back at the photo I can see the Snake. You and Ben need to put on a history tour of the trail. Photos help bring things to life.

My wife and I carriaged spectators from barn to field and back at the annual mule and horse-drawn 4th of July hay mowing event in Fruitland Idaho. None other than Ben, young Miller and Elizabeth joined my wife Annie for an early morning ride in the vintage Studebaker spring buggy we had the pleasure of pulling. Handling the pulling duties is my light draft team Gus and Call, "the rangers".
