Flatfender in Pioneer Day parade

Pioneer Day is a Utah holiday celebrating and commemorating our pioneer forefathers on the anniversary of the day that Brigham Young paused his wagon on July 24th, 1847, when entering the Salt Lake Valley and said ‘This is the right place.” This set off an avalanche of thousands of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints coming to the Utah Territory by wagon, handcart, sea voyage around The Horn, and eventually by train. One of the ways we celebrate is to have a big parade in downtown Salt Lake.

My friend asked to haul his 44 MB to Salt Lake so he could drive some veterans in the parade, which I gladly did.

While there we met up with some other WWII jeep owners who also were driving vets.

The guy in the passenger seat of the front Jeep is a 95 year old sailor who served on the USS Pennsylvania 

These gals did a great job if dressing the part and their MB was nice.

Home in the garage. Only room for 1 Jeep on my trailer.
