Hey Jeff, nice pictures, looks like a fun ride. I need to do that B/W touch with some of my pix, I like that effect. Hadn't thought about that before. Hope your summer is going well (between projects!) and look forward to seeing you in JC this fall. Take care.

You know, we always make a little fun at our passengers for holding onto something, but reality is that when you're in a 2A, you need a place for your hands, particularly when the thing is moving! As the driver, we have the steering wheel and the shifter.
I wonder if Trudy knows that seat pitches forward. |

It was 15 this morning, yesterday was a record low of 19, I'm not used to this stuff. (the 2A is resting comfortably in it's heated space.)

Here are some of my favorite pix of GW from the Colorado Fall Colors Tour:
When I get back home, I'll post some pictures of what my tires look like after this run up to Tincup pass.
Gen'l Willys next to Electro-Willys
Is that an automatic?
I really like that one!
This is a shot taken after Arick and I got done racing through the sand. We were drifting sand curbs and jumping whoopdedoos. See my passenger seat? I had to grab it off the dash and pull it back in as we scrambled. Next year we need to get some video of this.
This one ain't of GW, but it's still one of my favorites: Arick, me
Here is a shot of me sitting behind the wheel of the legendary "Blue Mule". Just two good 'ol boys from Illinois.
If anyone who was on the tour has pictures of Gen'l Willys, I'd sure like to get some copies. Especially picutres on the rocky cliff up to Mt. Princeton.
Here is the link to all my pix:
Every day, I think about what a great time I had in Colorado.
La da da da-da-da-da- feelin' groovy.

To show what kind of fellows Jeff (jpet) and Arick (Ricco79) are, after trailering their Jeeps from the flat lands of the midwest they each, independent of each other, offered to let me drive their rigs on one of the runs. That is way over the top for kindness. I didn't take them up on it. But I was certainly touched by their generosity. Thanks again guys, it was really fun meeting you. Bob |

Jeff got me thinking about all the fun rides the CFFC did this season and looking at winter. We drive the jeep all winter long with no top or heater but we hold for mostly warmer days. We do the Santa Claus run to look at the Chistmas lights and bundle up in coveralls and Santa hats. That got me to thinking about getting the jeep ready for winter. Remember this:
Well, if you have not changed your oils in the axles and gear boxes, they may still have water in them that can freeze come winter!
If Jeff liked those tall peaks, he and any other CFFC fan should plan to come out and join the MVCC, Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado, at Operation Blizzard! The MVCC is a founding chapter of the MVPA and each winter ( last weekend in Feb.) we set up a field camp at Camp Hale, home of the 10 th mountain div. in WWII. We will ride in WWII weasels to the top of the peak and see all the snow capped peaks.
Keep in mind, the weasel is the snow version of the jeep.
So, Jeff, grab your warm hat and join us!
Lew
