Solid looking Jeep, do you have to put extra lights and stuff to get it registered?

The only problem is "side lights" - we need them!
Looks good Old Boy, in better nick than mine! We'll have to have our own UK reunion soon.... You'll be competing with Vince to see who's going to be the first to finish! |

I could use the original type of rear lighting apart from I think I would need a centre brake light. Indicators are not required on a car of that age. However as I intend to use the Jeep for long trips sometimes I will fit modern full UK lighting to the rear and indicators on the front. I know this is not original but modern traffic has moved on since 1946! |

Hi Harriet, it would be great to see the three together! Vince has a lot more to do than me, I just spend too much time doing other things. It will get there.....

This is the way I'm going to get over the front light problem ...
http://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/led-indicator-and-span-classhighlightside-span-span-classhighlightlights-span_topic5688.html?KW=side+lights And it will probably be similar in the back lights too! |

hi old boy, nice looking rig :) i am curious if you would mind looking under the tub, at the frmae crossmember just behid the tub riser panel (the riser is the one that connects the rear floor to the front floor), and tell me (us) if there appears to be the remains of a WWII gun mount? it would be a halc circle plate with a hole in the center where it is attached to the crossmember..
thx..low |

Hi Lownuf, you asked me once before from a previous post. I don't have the remains of a gun mount. It would have been nice! The Jeep seems bog standard. The only extra is the rear tow bar and what seems to be a power socket for trailer lights. It is a shame it has not got the original engine block. The Jeep seems to have been worked hard off road judging by the damage and repairs underneath. It was ment to be used!!!

Old Boy had the good sense to buy a better jeep than me: he had me beat before I'd even started . And every time he posts a picture I swear it's just to rub my nose in it. You column-shift types can be so hurtful
It looks excellent , so much so that I've already offered to swap...

Hi Roberto, if the part is the same as the wartime Jeeps I use TS Autos. Tony Sudds is great for price and quality. I have also used Jeep Parts UK. I intend to order my CJ only parts from Walcks in the US.
