The question of which manual(s) should someone get, comes up often here on the 2A page. There are three manuals recommended to owners that plan on rebuilding or doing repairs and maintenance on their CJ-2A Universal Jeep:
- Maintenance Manual - Mechanics Manual - Parts Manual Those manuals can be purchased at these links: Scott Some manuals and other published information have been made available online. 2A Parts list - http://www.cj-2a.com/parts_list/index.php 2A Operation and Care Manual - http://thecj2apage.com/om1.html Willys Industrial Engine Manual - http://www.box.net/shared/0tjkeo7s2t 2A Parts Color List - http://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/the-parts-paint-color-list_topic5742.html Warn/Saturn Overdrive Manual - http://www.cj-2a.com/downloads/warnsaturn_overdrive/index.html W-O Carter Carburetor Manual - http://jeepdraw.com/images/jeepdraw/ADOBE_ACROBAT_FILES/TM9-1826A_Carburetor%28539S%29.pdf Fuel pumps Manual (covers many including the 2A's AF model) - http://jeepdraw.com/images/jeepdraw/13464533-Tm-91828aordinance-Maintainance-Fuel-Pumpsmarch-1945.pdf Bantam and Willys Trailer Manual http://jeepdraw.com/images/jeepdraw/ADOBE_ACROBAT_FILES/TM-10-1281-TRAILER.pdf Books regarding early Jeeps are: Collectors Library: Jeep, by Jim Allen The story of Jeep, by Patric R. Auto-Lite Maintenance and Operation Manual 1950 Copyright Not complete yet (I will be posting the remaining chapters as they get scanned) but decided to post piece-meal, rather than wait until the entire manual was scanned. The 5 chapters available represent 85% of the manual. Maintenance and Troubleshooting is next priority. Broken down by chapter, to minimize bandwidth use. All PDF files, suitable for good print quality. Chapter 1: the Seven Basic Electrical Circuits Edited by sean - 16 Jan. 2011 at 10:23pm |

Another interesting manual is the 1952-54 Willys Service Standards book. It is 35-page manual of all the specifications (sizes, weights, torque loads, etc.) for the L, F, and 6-cylinder engines and related parts (axle nut torque, etc.). I've reproduced it and more info can be found at: http://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/willys-service-standards-manual_topic18886.html?KW=
I'm also working on a reproduction of the 1945-1958 Willys Parts List of Popular Parts which is a 76-page book that shows all parts and cross-references them to various years and vehicles. Should have it done in a few months... R
