Been a long time since I have posted or worked on the trailer or jeep. My wife hurt her leg and the Docs think I have some nerve damage from my wrist reconstruction a couple months ago so it is fairly hard to do much work alone. With my side kick feeling a little better I am able to get a few things done.
Picked up the 3/4 conduit and metal box tubing from lowes for around $80 Here is what I have done so far. The only holes I have put in it are through the steak holder bottoms so if I wanted to take the cover off you would only have six holes you couldn't see. |

Looking good Robert. What happened to your wrist? Work injury or what?

Yes sir, slipped of the combination bar on the Obstacle course.
Pinwheeled backwards about ten feet in the air and landed on my wrist
(crushed the ulna and snapped the radius) :( Put some steel plates
and pins in it. Was fine for a month or so, then the nerve stuff came
on, they are still in the "lets wait and see" phase of the diagnoses,
but it looks like another surgery after Christmas. No worries, at least
I still have a job and the medical bills are covered :) Here it is shortly after the first surgery when the stitches came out

Ouch!!!!, I know that must of hurt. I hope you have all that in your medical records and claim it with the VA once you are done with active duty. Thanks for your service brother!

Good suggestion, I have one in the Med computer, in my medical jacket, and one copy at home. If they lose it, it would be like pulling teeth to find a copy.
.....and it's my pleasure. Same to you Sir. |

Robert,
Bows are looking really sharp!
I'm looking forward to seeing it all together.
I wish I had 1/4 the talents that are diplayed on this site every day.
How's the Wife's injury? We haven't had any updates for a while. I hope all is coming along nicely!
A very Merry Christmas to both and all you loved ones!
Best,
Kilroy

Kilroy - Thanks for the concern, she is doing well, you prompted me to post an update under General discussion.
My talent is very limited to some of these gents on here, but I am striving to branch out and gain more knowledge and ability as I move forward with my builds. Everyones interest and help on this page make my projects much more enjoyable. Thanks

Here you go Roc----
I purchased all the tubing/ connectors/ angle tubing/ box tubing from Lowes in the electrical section (it's all conduit) I chose it because it's galvanized, lightweight, and cheap. All the tubing (excluding the horizontal support bars that are 1/2") and connectors are 3/4" diameter. These female couplers are in the same section at Lowes and are used to attach the angle and strait tubing as well as welding them into the boxed tubing. You have to hit them with a hammer to get one side to slide into the tubing (that is in the same section at lowes as well) After they fit in, I tacked welded them in. If you want to remove the top for hauling big stuff all you have to do is loosen the little screws holding the conduit in place and pull the hole top off in one peace.

Installed the front and two rear stabilizer jacks to keep her level when getting in and out of it when I am camping. The front leg is no longer long enough since I put on the bigger tires so I wanted to be able to keep the trailer level while camping.
