First class work!!
I like your whole set-up. Especially the box on the tongue.
Will you be keeping your Bantam in a garage when finished or will it stay out in the weather?

Thanks Longhunter
I keep it inside most of the time, pull it out when I need to do some major work on the jeep ( it's a one car garage). I can do just about everything I need to on the jeep with both of them in the garage (benefits of a small vehicle :)

I know you said you wanted to make this a camping trailer....
Have you pulled it yet with the top on it? How does it do with the drag or wind?
Do you pan on hauling it with the top off and then putting it up at the camp site?
Just curious about the top and stability.

Valid concern
The skeleton of the top is very sturdy. When I grabbed any part of the skeleton with the top off and shook, pulled, or lifted it, the top did not move independently of the body, the springs were the only thing moving that I could discern. I am also thinking that it won't be getting very much drag on the top since it will mostly be cut by the tow vehicle . The only way to tell what will happen is by road testing it. We use high back hummers on a regular basis at work and I would put the strength and stability of my top up with them. That was one of the things that gave me this idea. I will be doing a test run with it tomorrow and will let you know how it goes (keep your finger crossed) < ="utf-8">

Anyone interested in the chains I pulled off the Bantam, they looked original. I don't need them but don't want to throw them away. One looks perfect, the other is missing part of the S.

So.............. Took her on the maiden voyage, didn't go so well, the front window kept getting blown open and that just wont work, makes it like a sail Maiden Voyage Plan B, change 22, I made a cover for the front to keep out the rain and air. Took it down about 20 miles to see All4jpn and pick up a roll bar from him. Had no problems, got her up to just under 60mph

Thanks Kilroy, still have lots to do, but I have to put a hold on it with training getting ready to ramp up here in the next two weeks.
Probably wont be able to start again until the end of the year, very depressing.

---- Thanks for the warning about the top strength, I was more cautious during my first trip, and wasn't as perturbed as I think I would have been at the results. Thanks for the heads up.

No forward vision on my part. I just thought that there was a lot of area that may create drag.

Those are 31". I have no lift and the trailer sits on original springs, don't think I would be able to go any bigger without any mods.
