It took me a minute to refresh my memory.  Click on the "Avatar Upload" and use the same method(s) you would go through to post a picture to the Forum.

Rich,
I just added my first avatar a few weeks ago, so what are the problems with adding your photo?  Remember, that they have to fit the 10K size requirment.  Joel

1. Make your avatar photo 125 x 125 pixels and store it in your personal space using Member Control Panel>File Manager.
2. Edit profile by going to Member Control Panel>Profile.

3. Click on "Avatar Upload"

4. Choose the 125x125 pixel photo that you want to use for your avatar.

If you want to use a photo from "photobucket" or another picture hosting site, you would paste the url of the photo in the text box above the "Avatar Upload" hyperlink and click "Preview".  Again, the photo has to be 125 x 125 pixels.

Avatar photos do not have to be smaller than 10 KB.   Many of them are well over that size.  They should be square and, ideally, as jpet says, 125 by 125 pixels.

Perhaps you already have an image with the same name.  If so, you will need to rename the image before you upload it.

If the image is uploaded, you will see it in the "File name" box (left).  In the above example, the image "125.jpg" is the picture of me sitting in my jeep in front of my house.  Once the image is uploaded, you just click on the image (left) and then choose OK (bottom right).

An image that is 125 x 98, will work but it will look stretched vertically when it is displayed.  That is the reason I recommend cropping the image square before you upload it but it is not necessary.

I'm sending you a PM.

I like your new avatar much better than the old one.   Glad you pursued it!
