I was searching for a previous thread...thanks for finding it and reposting it. Libby-Owen-Ford (LOF) of Toledo, OH was a vender of windshield safety glass for W-O. I do not know when they started to supply glazing or for how long. I believe I have the two original panes of glass that came with my '46. I have been wanting to post this question with pictures hoping to confirm that they are indeed original. I think the etched "7-46" right of the LOF trademark represents the month and year of manufacture. It would match closely to when I think my '46 was assembled, October or November of 1946. Here is a B& W publicity still picture of LOF manufacturing line in Toledo from the Lucas County (Ohio) Library collection called, Images In Time. The ladies in their hair nets reminded me of why I preferred to brown bag lunch while in school!
Did W-O take over LOF for an in-house glazing operation much like they did with their coach works with American Central Manufacturing (ACM)? Did the "Shat-R-Proof" slogan replace "Hi-Test Safety" ?

Joel,
Looking at that picture of the LOF factory, specifically the worker closest to the camera, seems to indicate where "Jackie" worked before marrying "JFK" (can anyone say "doppelganger"?) |

I use to work at a LOF plant, might be the same women that were working at my plant. Wasn't any young pretty ones where I was at.
