The finished product was better than I could have hoped for, and the forms really made it nice.  On the last one someone came over with the head out of a planishing hammer that I held against it and really made it smooth!  Lots of different ways to get to town is a quote I heard during the week....and it's so true!

So at the end of the day I owe a huge thanks to Jeff, and his fantastic hammerforms!!!  I still need to roll the corners and add the flanges, but that won't be bad.  Ron Covell even came over to my table and was impressed by them!

How do you pull out the form if you roll the top edge over onto the form?
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

It's been a while, but pretty sure DQ is drawing quality, and goes towards ductility/ease of elongation.  AK is aluminum killed, which is a process to remove oxygen before casting a steel ingot...basically so you don't get bubbles like in a loaf of bread

The panels really weren't hard to get off the form.  I had to wiggle them up over the lip of the wheel well and then pop them up with a dead blow hammer....easy.  I think Brian talks about that in his YouTube video.

Correct on the AK DQ, it's what Henry Ford used back in the day for the stampings because it lends itself to the deeper draws.  I used it because it's what I had access to, but I suppose it may have helped the forming process.

Thanks for the comments!
