Cleaning up and going thru old emails. I found pictures of the Original Bantam T3-C SN 913 and documentation where the greedy guy wanted to part out a very clean original trailer but someone had welded a rear panel back on (SAD!) I'm posting pictures for the BantamT3C.com website now, so I need to figure out how to get yours posted and documented. Can you email me so I can get some un-edited pictures. Thanks!

Ironic how close your rig illustrates my plans for '3A and Bantam, same colors, same tires etc. You have a set a high bar, looks great!
Nice looking rig, and great photos of it !! Edited by JeepFever - 08 July 2015 at 3:52am |

Pictures as promised.
Fenders, springs, axle, and tailgate on. Most of the arrow 41 tail light, license plate, and decal are also on. Wheels, Data plate, and wiring harness are now on. A better shot of the wheels. Now to just lift it off the saw horses that have been its home for so long. Now just finish off the wiring, get the rear reflectors on, and get this baby hooked up to the 2A.

BENSH - Thanks.
Also a little bit of an update, springs and axle are on and so is the tailgate. The rubber is getting mounted on the wheels and they should be on the trailer soon as well. I will have some pics later on as the progress continues.

Well the last big hurdle has been crossed, finally the painting is done.
I am applying the primer for the bedliner to help it adhere. Bedlined and now masked for paint. Harvest tan on. A good sight to see. Unmasked and now ready for the fun part. Time to get it out of the booth and start to assemble it.

Flat black paint on the frame, next step flip her back over and get it ready for bedliner on the inside and on the inside of the fenders. That will be in the body color.
The black came out nice, I am excited to get the body color on and get this baby on the road this spring.

I have been able to get some more work done on the trailer.
It is in the booth ready for some bead liner to protect her belly for the rest of her life. All the drips on the paper is from the primer that we spray on before the bed liner. Done and unmasked Next step is that I am going to paint the frame black. The part of the trailer side that is inside the fender will be bed lined in the body color. That is why the black bed liner is on the frame at that part. To have the same color as when the frame is painted. I decided to give the landing leg a little boot to protect it when down. And decided to do the gussets on the hitch frame, just to protect it from the rocks that are kicked up from the 2A when on the gravel roads.

I have been a bit slow on updating, so here are some few pics of the progress. A pic of doing the minor fill work on the trailer. Fill work done on the sides and some seam sealer down in the bed and sides. Right after this it went into the paint booth for the final coat of primer. Sanding the final coat of primer. The black stuff is called Guide Coat. and you put it over your primer so when you sand it off it will show any small flaws in the primer so you can get it nice and smooth. Sand, Sand, and Sand Some more. This is the stage I am at today. So soon I should be getting some paint on to it.

Good to know. Guess I jumped the gun working on the rear end first - but I wanted to get the lights on & working first thing. When I have time and won't be taking it on the road, like this winter, I'll pull the lights off and follow your lead. Guess that is a good way to get it painted from the bottom up and go thought the springs & shackels the same time. I was a fortunate in that mine still had the plate so pretty sure it's a 48 but my tail light didn't look anything like yours, much more plain.
I did get my side racks done (for now) this week so I can use them the weekend. I put a couple pics under the thread I started about the tailgate & lights deign done but I'm wondering if anyone has also put a front rack section on and maybe mounted a spare tire carrier?
