You may notice you are responding to an old post, but you are correct, the 1100 and the 1006 are the same. Wix make Napa filters so the number is the same just add the 5. If I remember right the last few Napa filters I bought came with 2 gaskets.
Below are some of the filters that the Willys canisters use.
MFG     Number      OD           ID    Height    Media Micron
WIX    51006    4.094 in    0.553   5.007 in   Cellulose 32
WIX    51100    4.094 in    0.553   5.007 in   Cellulose 32(51006)
WIX    51010    3.718 in    0.553   4.375 in   Cellulose 32
WIX    51080    3.367 in    0.5703 4.218 in   Cellulose 21

Mine says Military Standard on the cover and the correct NAPA filter number is 1100.  I believe the 1006 is the same filter but comes with a thinner gasket.

Yes it would be great to be able to see these pictures now and in the future. all this info in the part section does no good if the picture go away after time. Is there anything we can do about this or am I the only one that cant see them?  Thanks Mike

Jerry, I'm a recent owner of a 45 also, and am wanting to change the oil; I'm being told that there are a couple different filter sizes.  Hoping that you can save me some of the leg work and let me know what filter works for you.  Thanks, TimSmile

So how do we know the difference between the Fram and the Purolator? And which one is the C3 and which is the C4 as listed on the parts sites when I attempt to purchase new flex lines?

Thanks,
Dave

That's correct.  It's the "Miltary Standard" Fram filter used on late war MB & early CJ2A

Sean

Good to know, and I'll just leave those pictures as an addition to the thread, mine CJ has an MB engine so it is correct I suppose :)
Thanks!

The picture from danthman almost looks like it was taken from my jeep, right to the color of the jeep and the missing clamping band. Different air filter though. Smile

Having just replaced the oil lines I wondered what the position of the canister should be? Before I took the canister off, the upper line was routed just like danthman's; going to the side of the bracket. Although for a couple reason I thought it made more sense to raise the canister and have the line run over the top, just like the last pic that Gary posted.

However to make that happen the canister needs to be fairly high and if I had the second clamping band it would be pretty darn low on the canister.

What is the intened position for my late 48 production?

Looks correct for the vintage, but missing one clamping band.

Here's another one to add to the mix.  I picked this one up a while back.  It's an NOS canister but I'm not sure what it's for.  What do you all think?

Gary,
I am unclear on the difference between the top two. Can you please clarify what the lid says on the rim in the first photo. Also how about information on the drain plug location(s)? Thanks.
