Hey Guys,

I'm new to the site and these trailers so please bear with me. While searching for a M100 or M416 to tow behind my TJ I found a 1946 Bantam T3-C on craigslist. The bantam was sitting in a backyard burried in weeds and leaves so I felt compelled to buy it and put it to use. The title shows that it was made in 1946 (VIN# 28155) and it seems to have most of the original parts with just a little surface rust, nothing major. The PO told me that PPO used the trailer to occasionally haul a cow to market on the western slope of CO. The floor of the trialer is a bit strectched out due to said cargo but all in all not to shabby. I am still after a M416 or M100 to tow behind my jeep for hunting/camping/yard work/whatever and I know that this T3-C is more than capable but I would still prefer a M416 or the likes. So my question is this: Is there anyone around CO that would be interested in a trade? My '46 T3-C for a M416 or M100?

Hey Josh!

Nice score on the trailer!! And welcome to the forum!

There isn't a lot of difference between the Bantam and the M416.

The 416 doesn't have a tailgate, and I'm pretty sure the Bantam's came with a regular 'ball hitch' instead of a lunette (pintle ring) like the 100 and 416 came with.

I have 2 M416's, and just can't bring myself to cut a tail gate into either of them.Ouch

I don't see any reason you can't fix that one up for behind your Jeep.

I did a 'spring over' on my M416, and extended the fenders to run a set of aftermarket wheels and 31x10.5 tires.

I drag it all over the place with my CJ and TJ.

Good luck with the project!

Could you post pictures of the front, back, tailgate, tail lights, tub, wheels, and under carriage of this trailer.  Some of us would truly like to see more details.

Thanks,

Jr
