We have finally arrived back in Arlington after multiple visits to friends and relatives going home.  Thanks to Jeff and all those who helped make the first Summer Reunion a success! Clap

It was great to see and visit with everyone.  The Jeeps are fine, but the people are what make the reunions special to me.

I was wondering where it came from. if the person the got it or the person the gave  that  box would pm me , I would be glad. I am trying to find that gift for my self as I have a 2014 grand Cherokee and would like one. also thank for the good time at the reunion.

There actually was more than one discussion about the rocket.........especially after being told by one of the motel staff that it wasn't even attached anymore. ( maybe that's why it's so shake when you get to the top of it)

General concensus was that it would be about as easy to build one as to move that one.

Thanks for the kind words Jeff it was my pleasure. Mindy, Sue, Monica and Darlene have been through so many of these that it's old hat to them. I'm just glad they did not make me run registration, I would have had to bring all my junk...I mean treasures, in to sell.

Also, for those who don't know, there was a couple there from Australia who came to the states just for the show, and a gentleman from India who happened to be in Chicago for business who came down.

Big thanks to everyone who made us fee l so welcome at our first Willys jeep reunion. It was truly a
event to remember.

Made lots of new friends and by happy accident met some old ones I knew from outside of the jeep community. Small world.

Thanks for the help on diagnosing dome of the mechanical issues with my jeep and for all for the knowledge you folks were able to pass along.

It was a blast and we hated to leave Friday afternoon but my prior obligation to the Wounded Warrior convoy in Danville, IL the next day required our departure. We got pounded by heavy rains, wind and lightening but the 3 Willys jeeps in the convoy escort as well as the Patriot Guard pushed on and got our precious cargo to their destination.

Looking forward to the next one.

Everyone be safe and God bless!

Sincerely,

Rob

I wish to say thanks to the all staff of the event, the people who came to buy from us, the people who sold to us and especially those who traded parts with us when things got slow.   Dave w/Midwest and I were trading parts for two days and flipping coins for who pays boot.
The fun, the food and the fellowship were great.  Also, I did notice there were lovely jeeps there (lol).

A good time and THANX, again.

Ps...unlike WV, where we would drive forty miles to find a quarter mile straight stretch of highway to drag race, Ill has miles upon miles of race roads.  I'd been in hog heaven in nineteen sixty seven!!!

I would also like to thank Bob3b for shooting the event.  I was just too busy to do any reporting.

Yes and no.  can go on and off the trailer but it won't be long now.
Quote I'd frame the one with the officers in front of Electro Willys. Were they "shocked" to see it? John
I think they were ticketing Mike for letting my 13 year old niece drive

Here are a few of Bob3b's pics:

Banquet:

... I was told by the regular guests that the music was great and I was told by the musicians at the banquet that it didn't stink so that was my goal

Mike giving his presentation on Electro-Willys:

Congratulations to Doug Timme and Mike Picard for receiving the Toledo Brick Award:

I realize it was VERY hot this weekend and I apologize for that but believe me, I truly appreciate everyone who participated in this event. Special thanks go to:

Darlene Gloss, Mindy Christy, Sue Morris and Monica Fritch for doing registration, and their help with the banquet and raffle.

Art and Darlene Gloss for showing up on Thursday to prepare the goodie bags, help plan the layout and advisors on how a reunion is put on.

Kevin Banonis for the artwork on the programs, posters, flyers

Dennis Caraway for all the leg work he did before and during the show and being a  mentor to me.

Dave Hutson for his presentation of the 2012 ALCAN highway trip.

Mike Picard for his presentation and for bringing Electro-Willys and letting the group drive him around the lot.  Thanks Mike:

........... All the vendors who really make the show work and their donations.

Mostly, I would like to thank Bob and Mindy Christy for everything they have done for me and the Willys community.  I have got much credit for my efforts but behind the scenes was Bob guiding me and encouraging me.  Thanks Bob! Hug

Once again Thanks everyone for a great time and I hope everyone who attended had fun in spite of the weather.

I found some good fenders and a nice chaff guard and a tailgate there.    i drove my jeep to walmart to use the atm. that jeep was the center of attention in the walmart parking lot!   it took me a half hour just to get into walmart.   fielded questions all the way in. i sent a few people back to the holiday inn to see the jeeps.
