When did they start using the same shocks for front and rear? After the original parts dried up?
I have 642230 on the rear of Bugger (101361) Brachus |

GROUP 28-01--SHOCK ABSORBERS
Absorber, Shock, Front, Assembly (Use 645795)...PART No. 642229
Absorber, Shock, Rear, Assembly (Use 645796)...PART No. 642230
The shocks with rock guard in front (rear) don't have the slots for rebiulding. The Front one does (642229) The two in the back have the slots, no rock guards, and I can't make out the #'s
Here is the rebuild kit. It is NOS Military. This came packed in cosmoline and included the directions for rebiulding.
