GeoJeepers, You need to comment on the 2016 thread to get updates on the 2016 ride. The 2015 thread is essentially dead, done and history.

I'm going to comment here so that I can follow the thread and watch for updates on the 2016 ride. I keep trying to get my family to go to Colorado, and I can't think of a better way than on this ride. The Epic Willys guys inspired me... maybe we should drive Smokey all the way... it's only 967 miles!

I just figured it meant that I could celebrate St. Patrick's Day on both days! BW

To all my calender friends....I'M NOT IRISH! But I will apologize for my lack of attention to the St. Patricks Day I have noted in the 2016 calender. I thought I had proofed it enough, and felt I had caught anything and everything!...then this morning I'm looking at my calender (daydreaming) and thought...huh...that doesn't seem right! Oh well!

"IDK...... could a 3B make it through Chinaman Gulch? " IDK, sounds kinda like a challenge to me. Actually, there's no doubt in my mind. BW

IDK ...... could a 3B make it through Chinaman Gulch? Traci tells me that the article is being moved to the June issue of JP Magazine.

Now that you mention, there must have been four. One blue one doing the china gulch, I think Jamie with the half doors, Keith, Bruce, and Daniel from Newcastle and Tom from Newcastle with his CJ5. Or not!

I really like the article. It's shorter than I thought it would be,
and lots of the details Traci collected were not included. But I'm
happy with what she presented. I may end up with more Jeeps on the FCT
as a result.
Lew, i think that idea is worthy of a separate thread for discussion of details.

Jamie and Grumpy were there. Also Larry driving Bruce's. The "bulldog" of Willys Jeeps. CJ5 in flat fender clothing. I had one back a few years, or maybe alot of years. A good unit. John

It's funny that they didn't mention any 3B's! I'm sure that I saw at least two at the FCT last fall! Just saying!!

That is an awesome article. Could not have happened without Mike and his outstanding work. Plus all the great jeep folks that make it so fun. This is exactly what the CFFC was supposed to be all about. With that in mind, let me plant the seed for an idea I have been working on. Once the CFFC took off, I decided to form the IFFC. That is a parent organization of all the Flat Fender Clubs like the CFFC. We now have patrols all around the world. I still need a website as I have tried and failed at getting a page set up several times. I just don't know enough about how to do that. Anyway, the idea is to get enough patrols around the world that we can have an International Trail Ride around the globe! We would start at Mike's place and put a baton in a jeep and have it travel with others to a meeting point and pass it off to another jeep. The baton would slowly work it's way around the world. It would make it's way back to Mike's place. Each patrol would put their name on the baton. Maybe we could get Jp to cover the adventure. Or the guys from Top Gear would do the whole trip? I wish I had the time and money to go the entire route. How fun would that be? Thanks to all for such a fun event. Lew

Cool article. She gives Mike and Nancy credit for hosting the event, and Paul Sites for the photos. I think it's also cool that she recognized Fred Coldwell, Joe Friday, and Bob W. as historians which lets people know that the event focuses on "historical" CJs.
This article is supposed to be in the May issue of JP Magazine. Thanks Traci!
