Some pics of the wrecker boom I just got.  Anyone have documentation or pictures of these I'd appreciated it.  Most of the pics and info I've seen is not for the folding style.  Thanks to Joe Friday for some info.

The boom system looks complete.  Missing handle, and whatever supports the extension.

Missing helper springs, but many different helpers available.  I may just use removable blocks, since I don't actually plan on towing while on the road.

Missing whatever the hook attaches to.  Seller did have two  flat pieces of steel, about 30 in long, 1.5 wide, 1/4in thick, and with multiple holes, but he thought they went to a pump jack.  I couldn't see where the would attach to lifting block.

Serial number 0310.

All the pulleys, gears, and pins are rusted stuck.  Gear on winch has some heavy rust, but should still work.  Cable is shot.  Overall, very fixable.

Dennis,
That is one sweet find. I spoke to Alan a couple of hours before you arrived to pick up this treasure. At the steal price of $190 you can sell the bumper weight and the wrecker boom was free. Sure wish I was closer and could have beat you to the punch but it is a 11 HR drive. Best of all it was not sent to the scrap pile. Thanks for saving this little piece of CJ2A history. Good luck with it. Nice find. If you get tired of it let me know! It sure would work well on my Dual Wheeled CJ2A.

Agreed! This is such a Sweet find! Glad it has a Good Home. I like this out of the ordinary stuff. Hope to see it next Spring. I wasn't going to let this go to scrap. His would of been a great way to pull out my boat dock!

Luckily I was only hour away, seller lives where my wife's family and work is.  Saw the craiglist ad and talked to him sunday morning.

Thanks for all the info.  Looking at the drawbar attachment, wonder why it blocks tail gate.

I've never seen one before, so no idea what it's worth, ag weight was worth asking price.  I may sell weight, since mine has a PTO winch up front.

I'll make sure it doesn't disappear for another 50 years!

The address on the serial number tag is interesting. First time I have seen one actually listing them on Canfield. All the brochures mention them being on McNichols a few miles to the north.
If you look at the Great Willys Picnic thread, J.B. Stolfusz just restored a Canfield on his Perkins CJ5.

Thanks for posting,
Bill
