Love the Warn hub on the spare. How'd you tidy up the ragged edges of the brass locking dial -- careful file work? Dremel?

Hubs are done.
One is mounted to the spare tire rack. The other will live at home in the shop. Heater next! |

I got the heater housing repaired and painted.
The radiator shop says the heater core is good so I’ll pick that up soon and get the heater rebuilt and installed. Recently I picked up a couple on locking hubs that match mine so I can build a good spare. I got them all broken down and cleaned up. |

I’ve got the Harrison heater torn down and sandblasted. It needs a tiny bit of welding to fix one crack. Almost ready for paint.
I opened up the electric motor to clean the contacts and blow the dust out. That was pretty tricky to get back together but fortunately I have 80 year old tools to help reassemble my 80 year old parts. I’ll be taking the heater core in to Fraser Valley Radiators to be tested and serviced before I put it all back together. Edited by 92889 - 23 May 2022 at 2:37pm |

I think I’m proving that the build never actually ends.
I found a Harrison heater, so I’m rebuilding that now. Simple job. Hopefully have it installed properly before fall! Edited by 92889 - 21 May 2022 at 12:54pm |

The old ones were too small.
These should accommodate a wider selection of containers. Extra large coffee rather than a medium!

Thanks,
It did take a bit of modifying. Had to notch it around the built in tool box and slope it as the transmission tunnel falls away as it moves aft. But not too difficult. Just need to slow down and think it out. I do like having the extra room for gloves and sunglasses. Might need to put a lock on it somehow. Edited by 92889 - 10 Apr. 2022 at 1:56pm |

Super nice accessory fabs! I have same thoughts about the right-rear spare carrier.
That size ammo box is a perfect fit between the seats.

I have not posted in a while as the jeep is basically done. I did make a couple minor tweaks lately however.
I did not like the spare mounted on the right rear fender so I made a rear rack to hold the wheel and the jerry can. Also I modified a larger ammo box for more storage. |

Stan,
Yes in British Columbia you need a plate front and back. But it can be moved, it just seemed to fit well there. I also want to get the spare off the side and on to the back so I can sneak through narrower passages. I’ll work on a rear rack over the winter. I want to get down for one of your burger nights. Your a little far away but you never know. Jon

Jon, that thing is beautiful!
Is that front plate required in Canada? You seemed like you were planning on some rough country use. That front plate is in a very vulnerable spot to get bent or ripped off. Edited by smfulle - 14 Sep. 2021 at 11:51am |

Well I’m back on the road!
I took the jeep on a shake out run today down by the river. It runs great. Nice and quiet, plenty of power and lots of oil pressure. |

Ken came by to lend a hand and we got the engine installed. Went for a test drive. It sounds great. Lots of oil pressure. All that’s left is to reconnect the headlights, horn and signal.
