The garage is still a mess from the fire. However the kids are back to school so I have some free time. Ken and I made some progress on the restoration today.
We got the steering all connected and the wheels aligned with a 2mm toe-in as per the manual instructions. Basically I am civilinizing my GPW frame to properly accept the CJ2A body and parts I have. Not cool to some but like I have previously posted I am just building a Sunday driver with the parts I have acquired. It feels good to be wrenching again. Edited by 92889 - 14 Sep. 2017 at 4:16pm |

Are you sure that is a re-build or a brand new Jeep being made in a factory? OMG

Transmission next. Then transfer case.
I have a T84 and a T90. I think I'll go with the T90. Sounds like it's a better (stronger) transmission with easier to source parts. |

Thanks for the kind words guys.
Honestly I have no idea what I'm doing. Lots of YouTube videos and lots of reading. I am spending the weekend watching If anyone is in the Vancouver BC area please drop in for a beer. I'll keep building and posting. Jon

Alright, now I know what notch you we were talking about in your PNs. At least you didn't lose the springs or poppet balls. I've lost a few of them in them in the past and no matter where I search for them, they always show up about 6 months after I bought new ones.

I think it might be ok, but if I need T90 parts I'll check with you first.
Thanks Jon

Really nice work. For someone who doesn't know what they're doing, you really look like you know what you're doing.

When I got Ol' Unreliable, it had that shifter lever on it and for some reason, it made my right shoulder hurt like being stabbed when I shifted to 3rd. I had to get a shifter from some other T-90, without that curved bend in order to drive the Jeep.

There is an old saying about how we should learn from past mistakes Lets just say I've learned a lot over the years.

I have done most things on this jeep twice and some 3 times. But I'm getting better.
That's called learning right?
