Hi everyone!
I came across this King Seeley governor. (Serial 26510-400) From what I understand this is the variable speed version. I have the rest of the parts needed to get this to work except mounting bracket, carburetor linkage, hand pulley and a belt. So if you have anyting of this, im happy to buy it! Send me a PM

If I recall correctly, there is not supposed to be a ring in that top groove.

I ran in to some issues with the pistons so it took longer than expected..
They looked wierd with 3 pistonrings instead of 2. So I also orderd new pistons to match the pistonrings I bought. But now everything is working and its up and running with new pistons, rings and bearings. So its ready for the summer and some new problems haha! Is this normal with 3 rings instead of 2? |

Page 55, almost halfway down, under CRANKSHAFT:
“Crankpin Journal Diameter........ 1.9375” to 1.9383” “ Yours are .040” undersized. Maybe you’re not used to the term “Crankpin”. BW

Measurement update today.
I've measured pistons, crankshaft and cylinders So the following was the result: Pistons 80.58mm (3.172") Cylinder bore 80.70mm (3.177") Crankshaft 48.20mm (1.898") I was checking the service manual but could not find the standard dimension on the crankshaft. What dimension on the connecting rod bearings should I order to fit 48.20mm (1.898")? |

Standard bore is 3.125", standard piston diameter is 3.1225" - 3.1245".
It's all on page 54 of the Service Manual for Universal Jeep Vehicles. You do have a service manual, right? So, yeah, .050" oversize would be 3.1725" - 3.1745". BW

Not sure about the bearings, but the piston in your hand appears to be about .050" oversize, if it is reading "80.60". I presume that's 80.60 mm, which is 3.173". Close to .050" over if a standard piston is 3.125". The second piston with the "030" stamp is .030" oversize, so that piston should be 3.155", or close to 80.09 mm. In other words, both those engines have been bored, possibly more than once each.

Good afternoon! (Swedish time)
I have now awakened the Jeep and started to disassemble the engine. Got comp issues at the end of last summer. But I am stuck trying to figure out what dimension of the pistonrings and bearings I have. Is there anyone here who knows? Im going to replace with new. These are the pistons in the engine. And these are from my other engine on the side. What size is that? Bearings, is it standard dimension? Edited by PLO - 22 Mar. 2020 at 7:10pm |

Hello Raj, welcome to the site. Go ahead and start a thread in the "Your Jeep project" forum and introduce yourself. Pictures are a big help. If your frame is off 1/4" it may not be that big an issue. You may end up making slight adjustments along the way.

ho everyone
New to this site. I have bought 48 cj2a and it's in really bad condition. I have bought reproduction frame and issue that I have is that it's 29 inch wide and original or according to the manual it's should be 29 1/4 inch wide. How do I fix this any ideas. Million thanks in advance Raj

This weekend I changed tyres on my jeep and helped my friend to change the clutch and adjust the valves on his machine, then we took the jeeps for a spin! It was the first ride this summer, and it was amazing! We drove to my brother and his girlfriend to cut down a tree, fun day overall. Here are some pic's to enjoy! |
