The work continues..

Final adjustments has been made on the tub and the frame is getting pretty close to finish.

Here are some pictures on the progress. (I think the colour turned out nicely)

The goal is to have it running this summer.

You changed out the bell housing between pics.  Was there a starter issue or something?

Probably wants to use the 12v cj5 starter. Better keep a eye on the body clearance on the top left bolt, having trouble with the body hitting there on my build because the bolt head is so much further back.
Looking great!

Sharp eyes! Since the engine and transmission are CJ3A, I discovered that the CJ2A starter did not fit so I had to change bell housing.

Good guess, but im going to run 6V on the Jeep. Ive tested the tub with the bell housing change and it worked out well.

Thanks!

Reason I noticed is I have a T-98 I'd like to put in my 2A.  It came with the bell housing for the F-head, but it's an entirely different starter than the 2A starter.  I don't know if there's a closed-nose starter in 6 V that I can use or if I'll have to change to a 12 V system.  I'd rather keep the 6 V, just because that's the kind of guy I am.

Late between updates though. But a lot has happened as usual. Jeep has been started to see that the engine is running. And it fired up easy! Had some minor issues but it was easily fixed. Broken water pump etc.

The body, front, hood, fenders, window frame has been painted. And some little stuff. The fuel tank and the seats were painted yesterday. We only have some small parts to paint black left.

I am very pleased with the result even though we just painted at home in the garage.

We also began on the electrical system.

Window frame has also gone to the local workshop to put in glass.

So it feels like the goal is within reach!

He is the second owner on this Jeep. The guy before him had it for over 40 years before he passed away.

Yearmodel in the papers says 1946

Now its alive! And it feels amazing! First run was a blast!

My brother has done a extremely good job with the electrical system, everything works great.

Tomorrow all liquids will be changed, and some minor fixes.. like clutch adjustment and having problem with some vibrations on the tub..

The only thing left is to get the right rims painted and tires on. But it runs and I can enjoy it now Big smile

Need get the right towing hook also.

It looks great, you have done a fantastic job on it. I wish my CJ looked even half as good as yours does.

I found the colour code here on the forum, it is GM 113E. I think its close to harvest tan with todays modern paint, and it was the colour I wanted it to be. Rims will be painted with code Chrysler PL4

Thanks!
