Gil, just had the opportunity to read thru your thread, and as so many have noted ... what an incredible transformation from start to its current state ...can't say finish, because its obvious your going to continue tweaking.  Thank you for sharing!!

Looking back at the early body work pics, the way you fabricated and adapted other parts makes your thread special, really admire your ingenuity! Every mile should be like a pat on the back, job well done. Itchin for another project yet? Joe W

I did a few small project this winter due to a bad hip. I repaired a 1992 portable bandsaw mill that was not in  used for over 10 years.Went over the motor and carriage. I also restored a 1970S Sears 5hp 2 stroke outboard motor with the use of 3 outbound motors that friends had found on the side of the road for scrap.

This Spring when I was recovering from my hip replacement I made a few stencils for the Jeep.If it doesn’t look good I can always repaint over with no problem.

O

I also made the stencil for the Canadian 2nd Division as per my friend Clorice E Landry WW2 veteran.

Getting my Jeep ready for the Atlantic Nationals in Moncton N.B. July 4-8th.It’s the biggest car show in Atlantic Canada.Last year at the end of the show they drew random prizes and I won the Barrett Jackson auction package worth over $3000.This year they also have amazing prizes,66 Chev El Camino solid California car with all the right stuff done to it.That’s 1 of about 10 main prizes.I have over 4000 Miles on my Jeep now and every time I take it out I still smile as to how much fun I’m having with it.

My Jeep is some combination of CJ2A and M38. I use it quite a bit off road, etc. I'm looking to add a spare tire and jerry can to my tailgate, because I don't want the side mount to make the Jeep wider.  My tailgate is bolted shut like an m38, but I don't see any reinforcements on the inside.  I can see where there were holes for the tire and can holder but they have been welded closed.

Im not worried about authenticity.  But im assuming I should add reinforcements.  What are your thoughts on a couple pieces of angleiron or something? Also, would I be safe drlling out the old holes, or should I move over or up an inch to avoid the old holes?
