Would you like to join these folks cruising through the forest, scrambling up the mountains, taking in the views, sucking up the thin air, and driving through the dust on a beautiful fall day high in the Colorado Rockies??

These adventures and many more are there for your enjoyment during the annual CFFC Fall Color Tours!

This year's tours will start on September 17th and go through September 23rd, Sunday to Saturday.  We'll have two tours a day from the 18th to the 23rd.  We'll announce the tour schedule by June so you can decide where you'd like to travel.  There will be at least one, and maybe up to three new tours this year.  Places we've never taken FCT to before.

Nancy and I would like to invite any and all Flat Fender Jeeps to join us for some of the best Jeep riding you can find in the Rockies.  There is no charge for this event, although donations are accepted.  The Thirsty Dirt Ranch will be open for camping again this year.  And the local hotels and motels will be glad for your business if you prefer a more comfortable room for the night.

So join us if you can for the high adventure, the comraderie of your fellow jeepers, the tall tales, and the cold beverages.  Myself, M38Mike, and my two expert guides, Ron and Bruce, look forward to taking all of you out for some tours to remember.

Hey does anyone know the name of the guy who brought his harmonicas this last year? I want to make sure he brings them again.

Margie and I will be there baring any major disasters. Last year was our first and though we could only stay a short time we loved it. This year we plan to be there the whole week. Don't know if we will camp or get a motel. can you suggest some good ones close by just in case. It is on my calender. Thanks, Mike

mriceflinter, here are links to the Buena Vista and Salida chambers of commerce.  That's where I'd look for hotel, motel, or B&B rooms.  I generally don't stay in any that are local.  I try to crawl home instead.

The Thirsty Dirt Ranch will again be open for camping for free.  Electricity is available if you get here before all the outlets are taken.  For those folks who need a C-PAP machine, send me a private message and I'll reserve an outlet for you.  Water is free from our good well.  Showers and toilets are available for use.  Coyote songs and elk bugles are available nightly.

Shoot.  The MVPA convoy starts the same day.  :(
If I was retired I could do both!  :)

For new folks bringing spouses, your partner may appreciate a night or two at the Mt Princeton Hot Springs Resort.  Spendy but nice looking from the road!  They seem to offer a military discount.  Also not far from the most excellent Thirsty Dirt rancho deluxe!

Really pi*#ed off!

Received a letter the other day from our CFO - our president issued a mandatory shut down in July for 1 week. We already shut down 1 week for Christmas. All these days are taken from our vacation days and I only have 3 weeks total. Already committed to 1 week in May for anniversary get away. I'm really going to miss you all and it really pains me to not be able to join the FCT. My youngest son will also miss out as he loves the FCT and that is his only vacation week as well.

BUT-there is light at the end of the tunnel, I am retiring in May 2018 and I have a number of Jeep get a way's planned for 2018, including Northern Colorado, South Dakota, and of course FCT. Wife and I are looking at campers now so we will have a place to bunk down.

:-(

tumbleweed, sorry to hear about your work interfering with good honest jeeping fun.  We will miss you this year.  I hope you can convince your boss that you really deserve an extra week so you can go jeeping with us.  But have courage and hope, 2018 is not far away.
