My how time flies!

Two weeks from now,  we will be a couple hours into first leg of cross-country run.   First leg  ->  from Virginia to Jpet's house.

So much left to do . .  will be a busy time.   (home and work)

Getting excited!

Perusing the Rubicon Trail Foundation website, I ran across the Rubicon Challenge results.  Looks like we are going to have to shave some time off of our 3 day rally to be competitive.  Results for our class {“Streetable/35” tires or Less”} is 1 hr 40 min!  🤪

We can probably do it, but we wouldn’t have much good video...LOL😆

I’m ready to be on the trail!  Just not looking forward to the drive out there.  Is everyone ready?  Almost ready?

Well before I can get ready I still have a week of jeeping in Northern Colorado. It’s tough getting in all this jeeping that I have to do.
Certainly glad I’m not unfolding a balled up Jeep this year.

It's a tough job, but Jpet can't do it all!  Smile

NO WAY I want to drive all the way across the country for a 2 hour trail ride!  haha    We need to "smell the roses"  . .   as Jpet said earlier.  Smile

Not ready yet. :-(     As "Murphy's Law" dictates ->  my past couple weeks,  and the upcoming days are extremely busy at work.    I am getting too old for 50-60 hour weeks at work, and then trying to put in some garage time.

Ready to be on trail? YES  Looking forward to the drive out there . . . NO

I am SO ready in spirit though . .  this will be best Jeep adventure EVER for me!

Is there anyone on the forum who is going to be in Ouray the first week in August while we are in the area? If so, can you shoot me a PM please?

We should not have to "work" while on vacation,  but unfortunately for me that has been necessary
for the past 10 years or so.

We will be leaving trailers sometime on Sunday (which I assume has signal?) . . will there be any time before we get back to trailers (Tuesday or Wednesday?) that we will have some decent cell signal?

Zero cell service on the Rubicon. We will end up in South Lake Tahoe at the end of the trail and then have to drive around to Loon Lake to get the trailers. Plenty of signal in Tahoe, and on some of the drive around,  but Loon Lake, if I remember right has no signal so you’ll want to take care of business before you get up to Loon and then forget about it until we get off the trail in Tahoe.

Last year we spent the night in Tahoe before getting our trucks at Loon, but I kinda hope we get off the trail early enough to get to the trucks that night, but no one knows what awaits us in the trail, well  except rocks, we know they are there waiting for us. Oh and that annoying baby powder dust, we know that’s there too, and porta-potties that are full to everflowing, we know those will be there too. But like I said no one knows......

I'm in Ouray rght now, but will be leaving this Saturday (July 21).  So that probably doesn't help you.  But if it does, I'm here.

I thought there would be a lot more "chatter" at this point,  only a couple weeks away. LOL

Has the committed list changed any?  Have not heard from BobW for a while . .  and we can add Wilson/Jeepfever,   barring any major unexpected events.

Ron, I think a few of these guys (jpet and Stan) are busy jeeping at the moment up in Northern Colorado.  I rarely hear anything from Wade or Bob here on the page, but I assume they are still in.  I’m looking forward to meeting you and Jay.  This is going to be a really fun trip!  You guys are going to love it!  Make sure everything has checked out on your jeep, and cut off those low-hanging axle u-bolts and install them skid plates over your e-brake drum!  LOL

I haven’t been chattering too much lately cuz I’m busy working on Gus trying to fix some minor things like brakes and steering 🤪

Who all is carrying a hi-lift jack on their jeep?  Everyone got their fire permit?  Trailer tires good?  Wheel bearings greased?  GoPro’s charged up and mounting locations figured out?  It’s getting closer every day!

I'm still in. Been making a pile of things to pack. I will be leaving home a week early so we can spend some time doing the tourist thing before the ride.

Planning to meet you all on the North side of Loon Lake in the parking lot at the end of Ice House
Road on Sunday, July 29th at 3:30.
