What is an acceptable amount without being ripped off?

What you have posted are good prices. You are not getting ripped off there. Anything higher is a judgement call on your part. Depends on how much you want them, how good they look etc.

I read the tech article on these in the forum and they seem to be medium duty. Any idea of the year range? Would they still have been blue with the decal? I hear these are rare, a guy has them for $100 bucks. Instinct is saying go for it......Smile

If they are complete then $100 is a good deal. If you take them apart and you look in the cracks and crevices hopefully you'll find either blue or black paint. I'm guessing you'll find blue.

I picked these up a while back. They are model J5 in black. The tall type. They'll be going on my '48 when it's done.

I need a set of those for my'47. I bought a different set and they require that I cut the threaded portion of the axle off. I'd like a set that that will clear the axles without cutting. Do these work without cutting the axles?

you would need a set of tall version dualmatic hubs. I believe the height is 2 3/4.
