Got a nice new starter today, and some sweet yellow plug wires! Probably good for 20 ponies! Haha, got my plugs gapped and in too....035 correct? Still waiting on my pertronix setup for my distributor then i can drop it homeSmileSmile im chipping away at more than my fingers lol

Got my alternator bracket and alternator and stuff all cleaned up and installed today! Progress!

in anyone's opinion, is it even worth fussing with trying to get these to take some high temp coating or somethin? Or wire wheel the ugly off and slap em on?

d dug up.some mounting plates and cleaned em up too...more grey paint  lol

I may clean em and try some kinda high heat paint,  it'll last for a minute I guessBig smile

Years ago I used Eastwood's exhaust manifold brush on coating on an old 1940 GMC truck I had.  It was a gray color and held up quite well.
1948 CJ2A - It goes nowhere fast, but anywhere slow.

I have found some paint in a rattle can for painting fireplaces and barbeques, it's supposedly rated up to 1200° F.

If you can find something similar it may be worth a try.

I have found that most of what you can get easily will only last a short time.
The Eastwood stuff seems to hang in much longer, but I've never tried it.
I agree that if it's gonna be that good looking, you should try something
on the exhaust, even if it only lasts a little while.
That way you can get a few pictures before it burns off. Wink

pertronix electronic trigger installed in distributor, wires routed and cut to length, carb rebuilt and installed, oil pump installed and packed full of petroleum jelly, all timed up and ready, sans a fuel pump...just waiting on a shipment
