It may not. The Cj2A weight has the angles for the bumper gussets. The cj5 weight would be straight in that area. The cj5 weight is rare though. Maybe someone with a 2a weight on their 5 would trade you. In fact the 3b and the 5 weights might be the same.

I believe the CJ3A, CJ3B, and CJ5 weight were the same casting.

In fact, I've seen several CJ2A's with the bumper gussets cut off  to accommodate the CJ5 Weight.
That makes me wonder of they changed the weight before the end of CJ2A production. We'll have to see.

For those of you that saw the CJ2A weight for sale in Rochester Hills, MI 2 weeks ago for $100, it was already sold before I saw it. I'm pretty sure it may have come off Greg Reeves Farm Jeep.
In case it was someone here that bought it, the significant is Greg was with MOPAR on the reintroduction of the original HEMI, but he was an avid flatfender Jeeper. I'd like to think the weight went to a good home.

Joe,

I saw that weight listed for $100 thought it was priced to move.

Interesting!..... If the bumper gusset caused a problem on a CJ5 weight that was not relieved for gussets, but the rest of the casting was the same, wouldent an early/mid 2A C/W fit all later models!, the late 2A had no gussets so the change must have come at that time I would guess ?.

Yes, the 2a weight, with the angles for the gussets, fits a 3b, cj5 just fine.

I picked up the weight in Michigan. It will be going on my 2a with a newgren lift. Once I get it done. Just started tearing it down for restoration.

Congratulations on the weight.
Tom is a good guy, and Jeeps are in his blood.
His dad worked for Willys and his son is a major Jeeper.
Did you see his CJ6?

That weight has alot of heritage. Glad to see it went to a good home.
