Haha, yeah it was a long time ago. Him and I we actually just out in the shop working on the new jeep tonight. He’s a lot bigger and more helpful now. Lol… they grow up fast!

Hi Seth!  I have seen that you have added a couple new flattys to the collection.  Pretty soon you'll have a line up of parts jeeps too!  When I saw that you had added a post here I went all the way back and read the first 7 pages where you first started.  What a great journey!  I got a big kick out of seeing Saul as a little guy!  He's probably wanting to work with you to fix one of the new ones up for him!

Haven’t been on here in a long time! Can’t believe it’s 36 pages long!!! The old jeep is still ticking along quite well! Many thousands of miles and lots of memories. To Tess the “shop dog” out for a ride yesterday. Still freezing cold Here. Come on spring!!

If there was any information through YOUR experience with the oil filter plate/adapter.
would you do anything different?
was the 1" aluminum plate the right size ? I have 1.5", (maybe too thick)
it was close to the sector shaft on the steering box but worked well?
the engine we are using is a BEW, so maybe not the same. block bolt pattern is different I found out.

Thanks for taking the time. I am helping a family friend and his son install a TDI in a '46 CJ3.
So far just started tear down of the Jeep. the video is great! I will start a thread Soon.

I am 2-1/2 minutes into this video,  first with a smile on my face from the trails,   then with a smile and a literal laugh during the "question" segment.   

I should wait until I watch the entire video before posting,  but could not help myself  ->  Love it Seth, so far.

edit:  finished the video . . wow, a good reminder of how much went into it.  Absolutely amazing!  (building the Jeep,  but also the quality of the video. LOL   that is no small feat)

It’s been several years since the Jeep got its new heart... It’s still running great! I made a video for my channel that gives an overview of the build and covers some of the questions I get quite often. The starter is a just a gear drive starter for an l-head.

hi there, just came across this and are currently cleaning up a friends 46 CJ3a for a diesel engine swap. Really like the what you have accomplished here.
what was the starter used? as well you mentioned making more adapter plates, is this in the works? havent made it to the end of the thread yet but working on it.
