I've found that I don't need to open the inner windshield that far to benefit from the cooling; with the back window up all the way, just open about two-three notches and the wind comes in low and goes up over my head and blows out the heat. It doesn't bother my eyes in the process.

I have never driven with the windshield open. I will have to do some test runs. I usually have had it closed or layed down flat. I will give your 2-3 notches a try. I had it way open just for fun in the yard. Im assuming with the top on it will actually be beneficial to have it open now. Thanks for the tip. I’ll let you know how it goes. :)

Thanks guys! Just let me know when you get sick of pictures. My dad and I went on a ride today. We did about 55 miles.....stopped and got milkshakes. The jeeps worked great! I spent some time with Jpets advice modfyin my bows a little. The tops fits really nice now. Im super happy with it!
I started raining on the way home (glad I had a roof) Pulled it in the garage jsut as the showers picked up! 55 mile round trip. fuel needle barely moved. Im loving this thing! Edited by Millennium falcon - 24 Dec. 2022 at 1:35pm |

Great photos! The "downtown" photo and the one by the river look like Fredericksburg, Va but that street would probably be partially under water!

Love the pics, the two jeeps look great together, in the contemporary street setting as well as on the trail.

Love the LFC (Left-Fender Cam) and the overhead TC (tranny cam). Also nice use of multiple shots, particularly the pass-bys. Gotta love the beauty of rural Central Pennsylvania! Thanks for sharing, Falcon.

Thank you mike! Those are some big shoes to fill. There are so many great builds on here i'm not sure i'm worthy of that title. I dont really have any projects in the bull pen at the moment. Over the winter I have a few small upgrades and some maintenance I would like to do. But for now Im just enjoying the TDI willys as much as I can! Thanks! -Seth
