Love the 'Betty Boop' graphic--much more appropriate than either Humphrey Bogart or Katherine Hepburn....

Thanks Red, my brother JD is an incredible artist and his marketing company Junkyard Dog Productions, in Minneapolis is known for their graphics. JD is a "Cleo" winner, which is the equivalent of the academy awards for marketing. He has provided art work for other projects for me. He rock's!!!!
Taking a break from cutting those horns off that fnnnn buba welded on my CJ back in the day. If buba was here they'd lock me up for homicide! One side down, one to go, it's going to be an all day project just to salvage back to the frame round cross member. Oh well, it will be worth it regards finished product. |

Need a bit of help .. hoping I can get the following measurement(s).
Need the measurement from the bottom of the front bumper to the ground/floor on a vehicle using standard size jeep tires and wheels. Am also looking for the measurement (Center of the bumper) of the face (Front) of the bumper back to the face (Front) of the round cross frame member the 1st one that sits in the frame. I want to ensure that I have my new horns exactly where they need to sit before welding them into place. Installing the new horns, gussets, bumper etc as a single assembled unit onto the frame. Nevermind on the measurement issue figured it out via old diagrams and past posts ...actually it looks like the wild west out there when it comes to any true consistency on setup, frame parts, spacers, gussets. rivets, styles, bolts, etc, etc etc. Comes down to the beholder, and I'm onboard with that.

Wanted to post a pic of my hero, my dad and some other art work that my brother JD has done for me. The pic of my dad was used for a "Spirit of 45 Organization" poster, a group supported by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg celebrating the greatest generations contribution to WWII and Korea and used on the MVPA Bankhead Convoy 2015. The second pic is a magnetic poster of CW used to depict the combat engineers that built the ALCAN Highway during WWII. It was used to represent the the MVPA Alaska convoy of 2013.

Show in Phoenix was a sucess, with lots of stuff sold, 1 vehicle sold and best of all, lots of networking. My 1st show as a vendor and I had a blast, plus picked up some goodies for my 47 build and the GPW hanger find.
Had time Thursday and Friday in the shop so spent some time on my 47 project. Set the valve clearence, that was interesting and then started putting my engine back together. Still waiting for my new head! New tires and tubes arrived but the flaps are not in yet. Some pics of my progress. |

Been a bit of a dry spell in the shop with other projects at home, the winter weather and waiting for my head to arrive, but arrive it finally did and I picked up a heater for the shop. Making progress again on my project! wheels are painted except for the pinstripe. Pretty much as far as I can go on the engine at this time other than radiator hoses and my new clamps should be here in a couple of days. I also might swap my valve cover around.
Going to start on my body next. Need to do some welding of fittings, and drill out mounting holes for other goodies like starter switch, dipper etc.. Started on my fenders already as they needed a little work, welding in corners, straightening, and some metal work (Will add pics as I progress). Grill is in good shape with minor work needed and hood will need some welding and body work as someone drilled a gazillion holes in the sides that showed up when I sandblasted it. Also ordered all my goodies to build my wire harness which cost just under $115 from Rhode Island Wire. Like making my own. Besides saving $, I can modify them add I see fit for things like my trailer plug receptacle, turn signals and fuses. |

Mark, your 2A project is coming along splendidly....but that M3 HALFTRACK is callin' my name!
Yours has gotta be one of the coolest 'Willys workshops' among the 2A Page universe. Thanks for sharing your progress.

LRed thank you, actually the Queen is a M16A2, but she doesn't mind the M3 compliment ... she just appreciates the attention .
Started on my body stuff, welded on various goodies for my bows, gas tank, bow storage and drilled out holes for all my footman loops. It is so nice to have all of the drawings etc. available to be able to do the layouts and weld everything into place or drill out your screw holes. Also welded on a caged nut for the rear gas tank bracket on the underside of the tub. Did some dry fitting of my seats to see how they would fit and had to weld the passenger seat front right leg as it was a poor buba repair from the past and was inches off from sitting flush on the floor. These were the seats that were in the jeep originally and I'm going to reuse them. I like the passenger seat back that splits and folds forward and I already have the seat springs into a buddys wife for new cushions and covers. Will sandbast the seat frames after I make a couple of more modifications. |

Did you drill for the loops on the underside of the wheel arches? |

Yes, I did drill the loop holes in the wheel well and appreciate the positive comments on my WWII addiction .

Mark, perhaps when it's convenient you could take a photo of your entire 'Arizona Armored Division' lined up outside your shop! Your fleet is among the coolest of any on the 2A Page!
