I found another thing plastic bed liners are good for, I bolted a 2x4 to the front with two eye bolts and made a very handy slip to drag around.

Loaded with brush and yard debris.

Works great to move old bales of hay.

Speaking of hay sheds!
If you’re going to park a bunch of stuff in a hay shed....
Make sure it’s not infested with PACK RATS!!!!!
AngryAngryAngry
I learned this the hard way Ouch
In no time they had built a huge nest under the hood of my green ford pickup! Luckily I noticed some plastic wire loom on the ground and looked around othwise the damage would have been worse!
As it was they also filled the fan shroud full of hay on my Dads little newholland tractor I had borrowed and put weeds all over the top of motor!
I was about sick for fear that they may have chewed up wires on it. Lucky no damage was done to the tractor.
The Highhood Jeep was not as luckyCry
The original headlight wiring harness got chewed onAngry
The 3b rat was very curious and stood up on the radiator hose and looked at me.. he did not apologize!!!
It did make me feel a little better when I shot him in the faceLOL

Between trapping, shooting and poisen I killed 3-4.

Have a similar problem with ground squirrels, or chipmunks, building a nest like the one shown, right on the intake manifold of my 46 Have you tried a 5gal bucket 3/4 full of water, with sunflower seeds floating on top, drown the varmits! Used to work pretty good, but I think there getting "hip" to it around here. Joe W

Whether you like cats or not, they're about the best pest control you can get for that kind of place.  Of course, they do have their drawbacks... watch where you walk!

I agree with Ol' Unreliable . .  One of the best things I did for rodent pest control was to start feeding a feral cat a couple years ago.   Just enough to keep it hanging around,  but not fat and lazy. LOL

No more mice in storage sheds or garage,  and no more moles in the garden and yard.   I hope this cat lives a long life.  Smile

Edit:  oh . . as always . . love the photos and adventures in this thread !!

Man do I hate mice, voles, and rats. Yours is what I call a pack rat. Not a roof rat. A roof rat is huge with the long bare skin tail. I tried bait traps, mouse traps, and have cats prowling my place all night long. The only thing that worked for me was the green poison bait. I know not good for pets and birds, but the alternative was damaged vehicles and buildings.

For regular field mice, take a 5 gallon bucket, put a wire across the top with a peanut can on it that rotates. Smear peanut butter in a track around it. Install a ramp up to the bucket lip. About 4 inches of antifreeze in the bottom. You will be amazed at what you find.

Voles are very tough to get rid of without the green pills. Moles eat your garden and make dirt mounds. So do Voles.

I had to declare war on them. They ate all my wife's strawberry plants. Grapes, hollowed out the inside of squash, man are they a pest.

I hope you don't end up with starlings and grackles getting into furnace vents. That's next. Confused Ask Muley about those--------Dead

My Dad called me from a local farm sale and told me about something I (NEEDED)..
He said I should be able to get there before it sold..

My wife volunteered to drive me in her new compassClap
We left our lunch sitting on the table and raced for town!

When we arrived they were selling the item next to what I wanted!!
My wife went to get me a buyers number..and I hurried to look this thing over!!
In less than 5 minutes they were ready to sell it, and my wife walked up and handed me my number...
I kept bidding till I owned it!!Big smile

I told my Dad I was going to get my pickup and trailer, and he said just drive it home Shocked
So next thing you know I’m driving down the street.
I did pull through I gas station before heading out of town.

So I drove it 11 miles to windy sage Jeep farm.
I like to call it a jeep tractor, but it’s actually at Topeka Highway mower.
