I decided to blaze a new trail!! It’s hard to tell in the pics but this was at quite an angle View out drivers window I was driving it with the tub rubbing the bank so there was no worry about tipping over! The chains stayed on the front bumper as a plan B for the B. I did think if I have the chains on I could make it past this bad spot.....and then thought And then be so far up the wash no one could get to me and pull me out! So I didn’t chain up I’m calling this High hood wash. I want to try it again when it drys out. Next up Dad blazed a successful trail Another flatfender adventure completed. I want to thank all my flatfender buddy’s for bringing there Jeeps on this adventure!

Ben , awesome set of pictures. The 3 B just looks amazing. It reminds me of a vehicle that was resurrected out of a ranchers line up that was dead after being used up, but obviously not. Very cool patina.
I see the hard top M38 has a lifting hook in the middle to take the top off. Or----------pull up and out of High Hood wash with a winch????????? So, skinny tires or wider tires work best in that mud and snow??????? I know wider tires don't go in snow as far, but that mud looks very sticky. Muley said his M38 has Powerlocks original. How noticeable was that difference? Thanks, Oilly

Beautiful country. Would love to see it someday. How did those narrow TSLs do in the mud on that green hardtop jeep?

Skinny tires definitely ruled on this run.
Dad had the widest tires and struggled the most, but in the summer when the ground is dry and loose he does great. Muleys power locks are awesome! Seeing all four tires spinning was great. If I had them in the 3B,I would’ve made it so far up High hood wash the 3B would still be up there Bill’ TSLs didn’t get used very hard, his go devil was smoking pretty bad and had low oil psi. |

WOW how fun was that. Snow added a nice touch to the beauty of the landscape. This is where my jeep needs to be.

I am never disappointed when I check up on this thread. Great pics and looks like you all had a blast! Were there any V6s in the group to assist in the trail blazing? FC170 looked tempting too...I would have probably arrived late.

Fantastic photos, thanks for sharing Ben. All the mud, and chains on the Jeeps, reminds me of the famous photos of the U.S. Army's WW2 push into Germany, late winter/spring 1945. Every vehicle was mud-caked and tire chains were an attempt to provide extra grip on vehicles with open differentials and NDTs.
