Here is a better analysis of reversing the shell compared to a 16 x 5 KH like I’m currently running:
If I reverse the shell and offset the center to the max, I would move the tire out 1-3/4” so that would give me 3-1/2” additional width. Not sure so want to do this. Just FYI. |

You going to give up on the 62" BHR trails ? 7" wide ? So center line would be 3-1/2 right ?
One obvious advantage to using outset rims is that your front hubs may be protected by the tire sidewall. |

In the end, I'm not even sure I will use these wheels. It's just experimental. I really don't like the way these shells look reversed. It's not the deep dish as much as the swooping radius in the dish compared the the sharper edges of the front side. It just doesn't have an original look to me. Right now I'm leaning towards not reversing them, but sinking the center as far back as I can which would give me an extra 1/2" per wheel. |

I was holding off on this comment, but since you said it first, I also do not like the look of the reversed wheel. Not sure why.

Well, reversing them would protect your valve stems...
But I don't like the look...

Chad,
I didn’t even notice that yours are reverse. They look cool with the Crome ring.

On my wheels, you can see the safety hump and it is a distraction. Chad has the beauty rings which hide the safety hump, (if there is one), They also take the focus off the deep dish. They look deep, which is good, but the beauty ring hides the fact they are reversed. Looks like the back side of his wheels have a more squared shoulder as well, like the front side.

They also hide (distract you) from the half pound o' lead weights
Hope you have better luck with that.....I don't think it's all the wheels fault, the Swampers don't help. And yes, my inside shoulder is a more squared off profile. Edited by rocnroll - 06 Jan. 2018 at 1:58pm |

Drilled the rivet holes out bigger for a better weld:
... pressed the centers in, trued them up, tack weld in, double check run-out: finish weld: ... hope to sandblast and get some paint on these tomorrow. |

Ever since the lathe pictures I've not been seeing Jeff pics. I've logged off and rebooted...anyone else having issues?
Noticed it at work first which does happen because of DoD Firewall restrictions but usually not at home, ....appears to only be happening on Chrome, I can see them in IE 11 Edited by 48cj2a - 09 Jan. 2018 at 12:13am |
