I took apart a L134 I had sitting in the shop for a while and took it to the machine shop. Looking over the parts I have, I noticed that the crank shaft gear had a broken tooth. I went on ebay and found a guy out of GA that is selling new old stock WO gears. I ordered it up and it came in yesterday. I was fascinated because it came in its original packaging. It said on it that it was manufactured 3/1953. Anyway, not to bore you but I thought it was neat. The guy must have a lot more because it says 10+ quantity. The price was $15 + shipping.
Thought I would share. |

That is neat.
Thanks for sharing. I would frame that label and put it on the shop wall.

Old military surplus. The packaging is very typical of the requirement that the government required of its contractors during the early 50's. Packaged in that manner the contents could be stored in warehouses anywhere in the world without fear of deteriorating because of the storage environment.
Your gear is in just as good condition now as it was in 1953. |

It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

I stopped by the brewery in Salt Lake on a layover last year. What a let down.
They couldn't pour you a draft. Bummer. |
