I picked up this 65 M416 this weekend. She has been modified with a tailgate. The modification appears to be very well done. A few dings, extra holes drilled and some tie downs have been added. The lunette has been cut off. I hope to find a lunette. I understand the M100 and M416 will interchange. Otherwise, she is in pretty good shape. Two new tires. I paid $1,400. They are getting hard to find.
I took her to Home Depot yesterday. As soon as I parked, someone was taking a picture. Just not something you see going down the road very often. I have no plans for her other than putting her to work when I can. Eventually I will paint it to match the Jeep when she is restored back to Luzon Red. Micah |

I'm jealous!
You get to use your jeep? Its 10 degrees F here and we just got another 8 inches of snow the last 2 days. Mother Nature has a sense of humor and I'm not liking it! Gun |

Thanks, Weather has actually been in the 60's but a couple weeks ago we had 7" of snow. I spent an hour in the Jeep doing doughnuts around the neighborhood on that day. Rain coming so I had better get the tarp out.
I spent the day on the phone looking for a lunette. No luck. Sorry if I mistakenly posted this in the Bantam section. I guess I figured the M416 was a grandchild of the Bantam. Micah

Russ,
Thanks. I spoke with John. He has not had any for quite some time. Apparently, he has the license to manufacture the correct forged lunettes. Other new ones out there are cast and are not as strong. John only does them in batches of 200 an does not have an interest at this time to run another batch. Fingers crossed. I found one in Canada for $180. Missed out on one on Craig's list for $50! Micah

I went down to DMV this morning to get an inspection an hopefully titled. The old man I bought it from did not have it and we did a bill of sale. I tried to convince DMV that it was a reconstructed trailer. They would not buy it. They suggested I get a judge to award it to me. Are you kidding me? It is a $1,400 53 year old trailer.
Went to the court. Surprisingly it was two forms and $71. If the judge agrees, I get a title in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed. Micah

Got a letter in the mail today. The judge agreed and awarded the trailer to me. Next step is a fun day at DMV to get an official title and plates.

It took two trips to the DMV. One because the line was so damn long, hours, I left.
Went back today. At first they said there was a salvage title for it in Arizona. After a few minutes, and a discussion with her supervisor, they realized that trailer was made in 1985. So, I now have a title and it is registered for the next three years. Micah
