Received the replacement panel for my windshield. Put the frame up on the tub, did some creative adjustments to the mounting arms so that I had the correct tub to windshield angle... pulled it back off and welded in the new panel. Got called in for dinner...(3rd. call) so I didn't get a picture. But it still needs the welds cleaned up, so I have time...

Were there really no new posts here betwen July 2 and July 10? Maybe the gap is in my brain or phone, but I'm pretty sure some things are missing. 😴

Installed the new exhaust system. I ended up having to "correct " some of the bends so it didn't touch the transmission support. Wrapped it with exhaust wrap down past the master cylinder. Made a jig to install the correct pins in the shock mounts. Cut the old sheet metal off of the windshield frame, the replacement piece should be here by Friday. Installed the new brake shoes on the left side rear axle, just need to install the new wheel studs in the hub.

So far I bought some more of the Willys looking knobs for the switches I will be using. But there is a slim chance I might go out and try to get a coat of Sealer on the hood so it will be cured enough to sand before Sat afternoon when I want to start repainting the hood.

Put my steering box back in my Willys yesterday. Still need to get some brass/ copper washers and lube to fill it.
Plan on fixing my steering wheel today. It has a few cracks, going to fill with epoxy. |

I made this little breather for my Newgren hitch. I could not find what I was looking for so I went the route of making one. It's a bronze tube, turned down to size for threading, then the copper soldered to it and the little cap held on with a cotter pin. I put some scotch bright pad in there as a filter.

Rick - did it tow alright loaded like that? It seems like the way you have it would be good. Loading it backwards would put more weight to the rear and that could lead to fishtailing. I'm working at finding the right balance point on my 16' trailer. I have the motor just forward of the front trailer axle, that seems pretty close. Steve

The wiper didnt work and probably needs a rebuild. I loaded the Jeep on the new trailer for a picture and was surprised how it filled the space. Its a 12 foot trailer. I think I need to haul the Jeep backwards for better weight distribution. |
