tore down two F-heads for rebuild. Plan to replace an existing F134 in my 48 CJ2A (slick install by PO with Holley 1920 and no cut hood; some stuck valves though. Still runs, but not well enough for the road. Hence, the rebuilds while I leave old engine in just for fun around the camp. Then, we're back to a runner! Can't wait!

I brought my disassembled steering box to work and used the wire wheel on it to get rid of rust, different paints and gasket material.

I instalins the passenger side mirror. And took it to the DMV for its inspection. Of course now they tell me I need to take it to the CHP. Welcome to the People's Republic of California.
I'll install the driver side mirror tomorrow.

Had to rebuild the spare tire mount area. PO had scabbed a patch over the area where the fender had failed.

Is that where it's supposed to be? It looks low from here.

There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

Fun things today 1. Removed JPet's top for the sunny days 2. Assembled w/s lollipops to open inner windshield 3. Installed new inner windshield gasket. 4. Installed front seat back pouches from Weebee Webbing http://www.odcloth.com/seatpack.html 5. Followed Scout Pilot's "How to time your engine without a timing light" and discovered new power for Seattle's hills (all paved, unfortunately...) Ready for Summer!

I thought it looked too low, but this is where the support and holes are...is there a template to get it in the right place?

Thanks Mike...can you show me the measurement from the top edge of the tub? I looked underneath the fender and I don't see anywhere else it could mount and have support.

If you look closely at the 2nd picture, you can see the upper and lower holes are original... 🤔
