Got an invite from Dave Luber to meet him in Moab fir some hot fun.
Today we ran Hell’s Revenge and part of Fins and Things. One guy with us has a JK. This afternoon as we were coming off the hill his dash thermometer said 107. Mmm...., toasty. Lucky for him he had a/c. He could have gotten heat stroke.

Here’s me running up The Escalator. Didn’t make it quite as clean as the last time. Scraped a little on the left, but it was a good run none the less. More vids and pics later.

Here’s our run up Hell’s Gate. Dave’s daughter Sydney wanted to ride along. She loves this stuff.

Your Willys looks stock with the stock size tire. Do you have lockers? I would love to go out there one day, but it's a long ride from Michigan. Looks like fun.

Today we did Poison Spider. This is now one of my favorite trails. Plenty of challenging stuff, but nothing that is too stupid.

This is a gravestone along the trail. The story is that she was on the Mesa with her family back in the day and was bitten by a poison spider and died. So we have a name for the Mesa and the trail.

Nice, it can get hot out there even in June. We used to do things like Top Of the World and Fins 'n Things. I usually would have to turn on both heaters at some point.

When it's hot like that, I always have to wonder how stock jeeps made it through the summers in North Africa.  All the other vehicles, too.
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

Poison Spider is a very cool trail. How did Dave’s Jeep do on some of those obstacles?

Stan might have missed this.  Yes, Grampa's Jeep has lockers, as well as a GREAT story.  He has a thread on it here.  https://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/grampas-cj2a_topic16836.html

Thanks Bob, yes I’m missed that. Too busy jeeping I guess.

Lock Right lockers front and rear. Tera Low gears in transfer case. All stock after that.

For those that don’t know, Dave’s Jeep is bone stock (other than that roll bar he just added).

He did very well, really he pretty much did everything I did. He squeaked a few tires, but got the job done.

African Jeeps had a larger radiator, If you look at the SAS jeeps they had a coolant tank on the front
