I was at the Atlantic National car show last weekend with my Jeep and this guy told me that his father had a 1942 Jeep in the wood and that maybe I could use some spare parts of it if I was interested in it. Well yeah .So I went to look at it yesterday and there was some really good parts, windshield frame and inner frame was A-1. Steering wheel is in really good shape and the steering box is tight, grill and the light pots are good, hood is fair.Bubba did a good job with the dash and he also  install a Studebaker thunderbolt V8 and transmission without a transfer case. The body looks good about 50 feet away ,it’s a 1/8 plate to make the shape of the Jeep. The last time the jeep ran was about 30 years ago.About 2 hours of work to jack it out of the ground and inflate the tires. The Tires still hold air.So the jeep followed my Cherokee home .It was about a 30 Miles trip. The good thing is it had the tow bar on it.

Studebaker was using Chevrolet engines at the end, but electrical components may have been procured from another source. And then, of course, there's Bubba............    BW

Studebaker Thunder engine from what I read is a Chevy 283 from the early 60's.It does have a Chrysler alternator on the jeep.

I kinda had a feeling it wouldn't be long before you started another jeep project, your a natural at it! At least you towed this one home The Chev 283 (one of my favorite engines) with the rear diz, was the only reason I'd ever consider putting a Ford V-8 in my jeep. I can't wait to see how this build goes. Joe W

The only way that I was able to buy this jeep really cheap was the owner never sold anything. The poor guy just had a stroke and his son is in charge to sell some stuff. He have a lot of stuff , one is a 1955 military M43 with 5000 miles and its stored inside .Pictures to come later.Last time on the road was in 97.The truck is started every 6 months.I was taking to a guy that have a military museum if he was interested in it.No answer yet.I’m on a trip to Alaska for a week and I will talk to him when I get back.

Looks like it’s in better shape than the one you started your tribute Jeep project with. With your skills and attention to detail you could probably make it a concourse winner.
