Been watching for a good deal on some new trail tires for my B. Slamazon got me the best price for these 32/11.50-15 shoes for my jackmans that have been hanging out in the garage for a couple of years. Gonna squirt them with some CARC flat sand color for my future "dog" look. Paid $127 ea no shipping. They got here in two days.

I once had some Empco-brand wheels that looked like Jackmans; i.e., the spokes ended right at the rims. They started rusting in Ohio winters immediately. I was bummed. Why do the taller tires need to be so wide? I want height but not width. Is that so wrong??

It is hard to find the perfect storm of a tire size/width. I wish they still made the Armstrong tru tracs or the desert dogs. They may not have been perfect either but in this ol mans memory they were dang close LOL

There are things I don't talk about like religion and the perfect tire is up to you to determine. It depends on what you want to use them for.
I did tires for over 4 years. I did everything from the car tire area to the recap shop. I suppose that my father that managed the place knew that I could do it. I will walk into my favorite tire shop and everybody at the counter knows me and has no problem when I walk under the sign that says that I can't go into the shop area. Everybody out there on the floor knows me and knows that I will stay out of their way. They really do love my Jeeps and I have heard several tales from them. |

Whenever someone says don't talk religion or politics, I always ask "If the Pope were to run for President, would you vote for him?"

First picture with flash , second no flash shows thw flat tan a bit better. One step closer to getting the rims ready to install the new rubber. Wire brushed the rims and squirted the CARC flat tan Gillespie Coating paint onto the rims, not show quality but it works for bouncing around the trails and streets here in GA.

Well finally got around to mounting the tires on the rims, I told them WL in but when I came out to look they were all White letters out. I like 'em that way and heck they're going on my 3B so it's vintage too. rolled one up along side the jeep to see and here ya go...
One rim has a wobble and it won't balance but I figure no problem... thats 45yrs old for ya. Hmmm future rim repair could be done like Jpet made his rims. Wonder if they make an 8" blank rim that might work after I machine off the old one. But hey at 50 mph does it really matter I'll let you know after my test drive Time machine back to the 70s Edited by jeeper50 - 19 Nov. 2018 at 10:29pm |

Yes they do. But you might just find it cheaper to buy a cheap 8" wheel and cut it. Edited by rocnroll - 19 Nov. 2018 at 11:40pm |

I bought some tires once and told them black side out. After a while, they asked me if I wanted the white letters out. I said no. They had to re-mount (and re-balance) the tires... too bad, all you had to do was listen to me the first time. Never went back to that place.

Jeeper50,
Any lift on the 3b or are you running stock springs? I have a set of 31x10.5R15LT (Goodyear M&S Wrangler) mounted on CJ7 rims front the 1980's. Always figured they were to big to use on a CJ2/3/3b. Thoughts?

1" superlift springs, rusty crusty body. Tires are 2" taller than the 700x16s on it now with 40psi from the shop, will air them down after mounting on jeep.
