We took our new rebuilt motor off the stand and back on the hoist. Removed alternator, starter, etc. anything that may get in our way. Ready to go back in next week.

Thanks Jim, We have a red tag on the front of the motor that lists sequence of install parts and pieces prior to and after installation.

took mine to town to meet the wife and kids for supper. Coming home I stopped at the entrance to the neighborhood to take my 3 year old for a lap around the neighborhood before parking it. We pulled back into the driveway and the engine quit. We had run out of gas. Oops.

Oh man! I’d love to see some video of that thing on the rubicon! I’ll bet the prow on that puppy would just slide over the rocks😜🤪
I noticed the rock rails are on upside down.

USMCPMI - That tank looks a little different than the older repro tank I installed during the fall color tour. My tank was an older omix, and the sender screw holes and the thread on the flare fitting were METRIC and had to be re-threaded to make it work. I had to remove and reinstall 3 times...

Joe, I have heard that there had been problems with the fuel line fitting, so I took it to the Auto parts store and made sure I had the correct line fitting before I went any farther...then dry fitted it a couple times. Keeping my fingers crossed it goes well...

Got the fuel tank painted and installed. Also managed to install the wiper motors. Just have to mount the driver's seat and run the wiring to the wiper motors. Then do a final walk around and touch up some paint here and there...

I'm getting her ready for winter. So, I installed a new distributor cap, rotor, shifter boot, pedal draft kit and steering column seal.
Took a propane torch to the windshield latch catches. Too many prior paint jobs had sealed the screws in place. Some heat and a shot of oil finally got them free. Painted and reinstalled them in the hope that I could get my windshield at the proper angle. Still not right. I think the catches are a little bent and need to be replaced. The Omix cowl seal is six months old but already cracked and did not fit well to begin with. Going to order one from Pete DeBella. I want to fit the half cab I bought in January. https://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/aluminum-half-cab_topic41466_page1.html Micah

They get sprung out of shape by people using them as grab bars to get in and out of the jeep. I have clamped them in a padded bench vice and used a piece of pipe to slip over the ends of the arms to adjust them with success. Jim
