my dad and i have been working on a 1947 cj2a. We have rebuilt everything except the tub. Thats down the road. Hoping these photos will post. Dad has demetia. And is a retired 87 y/o mechanic. Without his knowledge i would not be this far. Just need to go get the plates. And do the 1st valve adjustment. Running great!

I understand the dad working with you.  I had mine on the lift fixing a leak on the back of the transfer case.  He spun the rear end, told me to pull the diff cover because the rear end had some noise in it he did not like the sound of.   (The man is 85 and wears hearing aids)  Sure enough the rear end was loose in the carrier pin.  We got the brake system figured out, fixed the leaks and just general great help with something manufactured before I was born.

My dad has been a great person to bounce ideas and suggestions off while working on and putting it back together.  I really need to get him in it for a ride.  Thank goodness I have it road worthy!  Now the snow just needs to go away.

I hope you have written down some of his 'secrets' that he has passed along to you in the refrub. Looks like a proud little Willys.

My dad is currently 91, and the knowledge that he has passed down to me has been overwhelming, sharing the little "tips" that cannot be found in a factory service-manual.
Hope you two get to go for many rides together in the willys.
