Guess I forgot to add that I replaced the CPS finally and that I've been driving it daily.

It was a wonderful 32 degrees this morning as me and my girlfriends 2 girls got in the frost covered Jeep. Had to dig the ice scrapper out of my '74 Cherokee to clean the windshield and side windows.
15 minutes into our drive and the heater is blowing ice cold Turn off the blower motor wait a minute and turn everything back on...instant heat. Thinking maybe the coolant froze in the heater hoses or ??? Will change the coolant after work regardless since I have no idea when the previous owner did. Just as Rob ( otto ) said in his parts Jeep thread, JEEP stands for what again? |

Been a while since I updated this one too.
Still my daily driver, just a little over 292,xxx miles now. Have not replaced the clutch yet either I did replace all shocks, that looked original. After trying to remove the oil filter during an oil change the 90 degree adaptor started leaking. That was a fun to replace (Not really) Took it camping the next day and it did fine that week other than the electric fan not kicking on when we were in Bend, Oregon and it was 90 degrees. ( If you don't know this Jeep has a mechanical and and electric fans. I have since added a toggle switch to the dash so I can flip on the fan when I need it. Living on the coast I have not needed it yet.) Short time later the water pump seized on me just as I got home one night ( Big cloud of smoke all the sudden.) Replaced the pump, new hoses, thermostat and a month later had to replace the radiator that started leaking. (Figures, right?) I replaced the alternator at this time, since I had everything apart and access. |

Went to the junkyard for the first time in a long time. It was also 60+ degrees yesterday which was wonderful. Picked up the wiper transmission linkage and wiper arms from a '92 Commanche and an extra set of cross bars for the roof rack from a '97 Cherokee. Since the last update I also bought a replacement exhaust manifold to replace the cracked one on the Jeep currently. Still have not replaced the clutch Had to replace the drivers side caliper since it started sticking. While there I also replaced the brake hose too. My daily driver now has close to 296,xxx miles

Pressure washed the Cherokee today after work. The weather is getting nicer so I had to wash all the moss and pollen off.

Nice. Good to see another XJ living it's best life, not having a sawsall taken to it. I've had 4. Currently in a 95 Country, but previous were 94 sport, 00 sport, and 97 sport.

My first was a '94 bare bones 2 door, 2.5 five speed 4x4. It had to be the lowest cost Cherokee when new. Unfortunately this one spent its life in the rust belt and was neglected before I got it around 2000. Front axle upper control arm rusted off on my way home one day. Replaced the axle with an '89 limited, drove it for a little then I bought a '96 Sport 4.0 5 speed 4x4 4 door that was very rust free. Lifted the '96 shortly after, put 31's on it and since the '94 had the 4:10 gears I just swapped axle gears over. Took anything of value, which was not much and sent it the the junkyard. Other than the different wheels and the two extra roof top cross bars I put on it this one will stay completely stock. Red |

I'm horrible at updating. I am now a member of the 300,000 mile club. Had to replace the passenger side axle shat u-joint as it was clicking more and more.
It has been marking its territory ever since I got it so one day I sprayed the motor, transmission and transfer case with degreaser and pressure washed them. After work today I did an inspection and try to locate the leak/s. Looks like it is the engine rear main seal and a plug ob the upper half of the manual transmission. I also noticed that the rubber boot for the shifter to the case was off. I removed the center console and was able to secure the boot.

Used the pressure washer to clean the Cherokee up. Was looking quite filthy and had a '97-01 XJ follow me today, for our very own parade! I felt ashamed with all the cobwebs and dirt.
