I spent yesterday with a group of fellow jeep club members that host the Palo Duro Jeep Jamboree every May. We go down into the canyon on the Figure 3 Ranch near Amarillo, Texas. I’m the only flatfender in the club, or at least the only one that wheels one. There’s about 75-100 jeeps in the club. Yesterday we did some “trail maintenance” for the upcoming Jamboree. Here’s some highlight pics of the work day. I’ll try and get the video put together early next week.
Here’s a view from the top of the High Plains down into an arm of the main canyon. Jeeps getting grouped and about to head down into the canyon. Here’s a pic of Gus after our first obstacle. Notice the mud all the way up to the canvas top on the back bar. And no, that mud wasn’t flung up there. Go Slow....just roll thru it...... I was a little concerned crossing this deep ravine on these telephone poles. This crossing wasn’t made for 51” wide Willys jeeps. It was made for “modern jeep” with wide stances. Keep at least 2 wheels on the ground at all times. |

They are Interco Narrow SS, bias-ply super swampers 9/34-16 LT. Here’s my post about them. |

Traditionally we like to keep at least THREE wheels on the ground.
Or if one must resort to just two wheels on the ground, it has been our experience that two wheels on the same axle are better than two wheels on different axles. Jest for future reference. Nice pics!!!

Here's the first video of our work trip. These were a couple of easy trails that the Jamboree runs each year. The scenery is pretty nice.

Cool video, but it needed more Gus I guess your friends don’t film as much as we do? Is the CB a club requirement?

No, these guys don’t film as much as we do. Yep, a working CB and a fire extinguisher are requirements of club membership. I’m working on a couple of other videos right now. Will get them posted as soon as I can.

Here's another video. Not too much of me doing obstacles but lots of views of the terrain. One more to come after this one.
