Changed the oil. I always marvel at just how high I can jack a corner and the other 3 wheels are still on the ground.

Does a Willys storage unit count? Someday it will be a garage but this year
all I got done is a carport. I can't believe we are already starting having snow! This years weather has been a pain in the ass, first all it did was rain, than 90 degrees and steamy, than back to the rain and now snow. This photo is from a month ago but now the roof is done.

The front left fender is off now & tomorrow morning I will remove the steering box (I have new parts) and rebuild it. I also have a rebuild kit for that first link off the box. While apart I will figure out why I have a push-button under the dash for the horn & a dead button in the middle of the steering wheel~
The other job is to go over the front axle to estimate the over-all condition. So far mostly I find small job get big by working on them????????

Finally installed a double cardan drive shaft and corrected the pinion angle. 4 wheel discs brakes that stop on a dime last month, I'm a happy camper

I picked up a Koenig half-cab project a couple weeks ago. Due to some ill fitting patch panels it took some extra work to get mounted. But its installed now. Doors will be further down the road.

New differential cover gaskets. Was pretty amazed at the mud pit I found in the rear.... Also found a small brake fluid leak while I was laying under there.... So there's another item on the to do list.
Cleaned off all the old gaskets on everything in preparation for putting the motor back together. Should have the block back from the machine shop this week. Hopefully the tailgate will be more empty soon. |

ndnchf nice job on that half cab, that was quick turn around. I must admit I’m just a little jealous, I’ve always loved the look and functionality of half cabs but have never been able to find one in the west.

DMusil,
We got a big block of wood under there and did some pounding with a hammer then did some heat shrinking on the metal. It’s all posted here... Click and scroll down. Thanks for asking.

Mounted the restored and painted tub on the chassis for the last time - I hope. '47 in original Picket Gray color. Plan to paint the wheels in Harvard Red in the Spring.

Half cabs are cool. I am working on mine this month.
Insulating for noise and temp. I plan to change the door glass. The wheels are just sitting there for now.

Kind of happy today I sat down and figured out a real simple way to create a circuit to control my Electric fan. I can now run it automatic controlled by the thermostat, or manually on or off completely. I made a special switch that has three positions auto, on, off push pull.

Saw a little fluid on the right front tire & wanted to go thru the front axle anyhow to check for condition. Found a bad brake cylinder & soaked shoes. Dug in deeper after that - see below~
