Ya, I’d be “excited”... excited the police are on their way, lol!

Dean,

Congrats from Grants Pass area !

The GPW block serial number is behind/near the oil filter/housing/cannister in a somewhat oval looking pad on the side of the block. The block casting numbers are on the same side of the block, but are just above the oil pan per se.

Looks like a great jeep !

Welcome to the Cj2A Page!

The electrical box is hard to make out in the pictures.  It is possible that the box is the old voltage regulator for the generator that was removed.

Looks like a Ford starter solenoid to me. https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performance+Products/555/10308/10002/-1?msclkid=4a2cc6f1c0fc1c06f17298ec83bbe81b&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=BSC%20-%20JEGS%20Brand&utm_term=4579122334349136&utm_content=Ignition%20Electrical%20%26%20Tuning

Does she still have a foot starter switch? How about the ignition switch, is it a two or three position switch: Off, On and Start?

Looks like a GM alternator to me.

Do I see Luzon Red in the engine compartment and OD green on the oil filter housing? Does it have a heater>

Nice Jeep, awesome price.

Micah

Looks great.

Don't know what your plans for the GPW engine are, but if you can confirm the serial number, it might be worth posting it on the G503.com website just in case someone there owns the jeep it came from. The chance of that is pretty slim, but I do recall reading a thread some time ago in which someone actually did locate their original engine and was able to reunite it with the vehicle. If the engine for my GPW 240019 ever came up, I suspect that I'd be a very motivated buyer.

Sincerely,

John
