When I pressed them together, I had the back side supported with a socket to keep them from warping. They're cast so they don't have much give to them, anyway, I was very careful to make sure they didn't distort. But what you're saying...that's similar to what I thought. I figured they were designed incorrectly, with the center piece not deep enough toward the brakes.

I'm wondering if anybody else has used these drums from armyjeepparts, and had any issues. I'm over $500 (with cost plus machining) into these and it looks like I'm not gonna be able to use them.

Hamhog,

Do you backing plates have 2 or 4 adjusting cams?

Was wondering if some how you had late style backing plates and early style - configuration on your drum mounting to the hub.  But it sounds like you have early backing plate and early style - configuration of the drum mounting to the hub.  So no help here...

No, i didn’t change anything. All the original parts were cleaned up and put back, except the shoes, wheel cylinders, and drums. I’m baffled.
