I was asked to make a clip on removable step that wouldn’t change the look of a the Jeep. I have a friend who’s father needs a little help getting in and out of his Jeep so this is what we came up with. They are very heavy duty! They have rubber to protect your paint and prevent the step from slipping. Once your inn the Jeep you can just stow it behind the seat. Right now I have two. If there is interest I can make more. Battle ship gloss grey and OD green but can make them any color you want. $120 shipped, $100 pickup. Central Pennsylvania. Comment or pm if you’re interested. My Jeep has rocker guards but they will rest flat against the tub on a stock Jeep.

great! Ol' Snakeskin's charging issue is sorted out, and trial run on some old mine roads went well Saturday, albeit pretty slippery on the ice/snow. so, I rebuilt 4 sets of tire chains today. If work schedule behaves, and impending jury duty doesn't interfere, my son Dan and I would love to join you. Would be trailering there on an 18' tandem. Any suggestions on a good place to park/meet? John

Great! I will post directions for the meeting place a little closer to the day. Location may change slightly based on trail conditions.. most people will be trailering so I will make sure there is plenty of space to park.

Here’s a video of the step in use. My dad also tried it out. He’s over 200lbs and it worked perfectly!! |

Now to test your creative skills, and your R&D abilities. How about designing a step that folds up against the shaft so the entire step takes up less room when stowed away inside the Jeep. And still have it strong enough to support a 300 lb man standing on it. Can you do it? The bigger step you built was a great modification. Now how about a step that stows more compactly?

Great idea and great execution. My only concern is it might scratch the paint. A sock of some sort over the hook might help. I was thinking about this the other day and thought a horse stirrup might also be used. I was also thinking about a motorcycle peg that folds up when you don't need it.

Every place that touches your paint is backed with very soft rubber. It’s a non issue (see photos)

Another thought on the subject ....they could be painted ( or dipped) with rubber tool hand coating to prevent scratches. |
