Hey Folks, I just got my new canvas half cab soft top.  It is awesome, very well made and it was a completely custom job.   I have a 2A with a 3A tub and 3A windshield and I wanted it to wrap over the roll bar AND have a larger rear window.  The company is called Classic Jeep Tops and it is run by one of our own, Jeff Petrowich.  Jeff (Jpet) has put all of his drawings, dimensions and techniques on our site if you want to do it yourself.  But if you don't have the talent, the inclination or the equipment, he can take of you.

I have been told that a few days in the cool air will tighten the top considerably, so I have left it a little loose.

My set up for the "Ohio Fall Colors Tour" could best be described as Ghetto Bubba (with no disrespect intended).  It consisted of two old doors from who knows where, held closed with bungee cords, a CJ5 Bikini top and a CJ5 windjammer.  It pretty much screamed "Help jPet, help".  But it did help keep a little wind out.

I just checked out Jeff's website and am very impressed. I think the quality speaks for itself and the cost seems more than fair. Plus, he's a reliable source!!

Jeff did an amazing job on my top. Here is a pic of the half cab version which is my favorite. It allowed me to Jeep all winter. I think I get more comments over my Jeep because of the top than I do during the summer driving season. It takes a little more effort for people to roll down their windows for a "thumbs up" when we meet on the road but I see a lot of them in the rear view mirror.  Thanks Jeff!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the support. I've got 50 yards of gray fabric now so I think I'm in pretty good shape to start doing gray tops but I love the look of the OD. It just looks so vintage to me, especially when it gets a little sun and dirt on it.

I have a couple projects in the works. I'm going to be releasing an ECJ5 top soon and I'm working with some of the members here to produce Kayline style tops in white and other colors of vinyl. I appreciate the feedback. You guys are the best! At your service _(O|||||||O)_

... also, I am looking for a source for #8 cotton duck in black that is treated for UV resistance. I know there are a lot of suppliers out the advertising outdoor black cotton canvas but none of them are UV resistant that I can find. I know I can get it if I buy 2-3k yards but I'm not buying that much. I'd consider 1K if I have to.

I'd say welcome to a "new" guy and business, but Jeff is already one of us. For quite a few years actually. He can do just about anything.  I feel good for him. Wink I hope much success for you. Your product possibles are endless. Seat covers, garage covers, half cabs, full tops, WW2 covers, M37 tops, M35A2 tops, cargo tops, trailer tops, the list could be endless. The work associated also.

The roving reporter could rove with Jeep and sewing machine and work just about anywhere. So, you need a cool vintage shop van with trailer. Sky is the limit. I know a motorcycle seat specialist who does this. Hard to mix business with pleasure though.

Hunker down, weather this virus storm well my friends. Oilly

Jeff, you should add a short video of just how capable a Jeep can become when it has a JPET soft top!

Jeff the pics of your work speak for themselves. Incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. His customer service is a step above too.

I have his half top and it fits as if he was in my garage when he sewed it!

Jeff please feel free to use this pic if you want it or I can crop it and send it to you. I’ll take better pics of the top when the sun finally breaks the Buffalo cloud cover.
